Brewster Road Widening and North Avenue Bridge PA04009 This project will provide for the widening of Brewster Road at the south end of the airport as well as the replacement and realignment of the North Avenue Bridge. The project cost is estimated to be $12.2 million. Hoboken Permanent Ferry Terminal PA04003 The project will provide for design and construction of a permanent ferry facility at Hoboken within the Hoboken Train Terminal Building. McLester Street Dual Lead Track PA008 The project will provide for the construction of a second lead track that parallels the McLester Street grade separation. The work provides an opportunity to handle forecasted cargo growth. Total project cost is estimated at $30.4 million. New Expressrail Facility PA016 This project will provide for the construction of a new Expressrail site. The site will be located on approximately 70 acres of land between the Maher and APM terminals. Project cost is estimated to be $23.2 million. Page 4
New Jersey Turnpike Exit 14 Ingress and Egress PA007 The project consists of a connector road from Exit 14 to the Port area. The subject project has been changed (NJ Exit 14 Access and Egress) and is now part of a "Comprehensive Roadway Improvement Plan," which calls for looking at the entire structure of the Port to improve access and egress from Exit 14, as well as within the Port facilities. The project/plan is now tied into the PA's security efforts for emergency evacuation. The municipalities include Elizabeth and Port Newark. This is a $15-16 million project that is expected to start in 2003 and be completed in 2005. Essex Outerbridge Crossing Deck Rehabilitation PA009 This project will provide for the Outerbridge Crossing deck rehabilitation. The entire concrete deck will be rehabilitated including structural steel supports and replacement of truss span sidewalks. The project cost is estimated to be $63.9 million. Hudson Page 5
Palisades Interstate Parkway Connector Ramp PA019 This project will provide a connection between the lower level of the George Washington Bridge and the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Project cost is estimated to be $92.5 million. Bergen PATH Exchange Place Improvements PA04002 This project will provide rock tunneling and installation of crossover tracks east of the station to enable trains to turn around. This would allow earlier service to Exchange Place before completion of the WTC. The project cost is estimated to be $160.0 million. Hudson Page 6
PATH Extension to Newark Liberty International Airport Study PA04001 A study will be conducted as to the feasibility of extending the PATH system from Newark Penn Station South Yard to EWR monorail station. This proposed extension would include new east/west trackage, stations, power supply and 40 cars. The project cost is estimated to be $31.0 million. Essex Port Newark Intermodal Terminal PA015 This project will expand the intermodal rail capacity by opening an interim rail terminal to handle international container traffic.
