They have worked hard for the Eagles for many years and certainly deserve this honor. For those of you who were able to attend the Grand Convention in Reno, I hope you came away with more knowledge, new friendships, and the drive to work harder on increasing our membership and supporting our charities. Without your help in these two areas, we will not be able to fulfill our obligations as " People Helping People". Congratulations to Althea P. Lane on her new office as Grand Madam Secretary. We wish her much success in her new position. Lone Austin Special points of interest: State Trustees Night Grand Convention Photos Mountain View Picnic Grand Convention Photos (online version only) I will not be attending our meetings in Mountain View on August 11th, as I will be out of town celebrating my Mother's 80th birthday and a once in a lifetime reunion with all my brothers and their children. Thank you in advance to Frank and Robert for standing in as proxies for myself and Carol. We do appreciate it very much. Congratulations to all the new officers of Sires and Arabellas. See you next month. Fraternally and in Friendship, Lone Austin Chairman, District 3

1036 Lincoln Ave. San Jose, CA 95125 www.ca3.foe.com In Honor of Kim Some of our lovely ladies from District Three had a chance to go to the Ronald McDonald House in Sacramento. Here they got to see the brick the District purchased in Kim s name. What a Great Day!

News From Brisbane Brisbane #3255 held a Pork Tamale, rice and bean dinner on Saturday, July 20th. We had a 50/50 and a raffled off some awesome prizes. We successfully raised $1,000.00 for the Diabetes Research Fund. On Saturday, July 27th Brisbane had it's annual city-wide garage sale. We took advantage of this by having an open house to possibly get new members. We held a bake sale and members sold their items out front. It was very successful for all! President, Nic Cohn and Vice President, Ryan Moore proudly represented Brisbane at the State Convention in Bakersfield on June 27, 28 & 29th. They volunteered behind the bar and met many new friends. Great job guys! We will be holding our annual dinner for the Cancer Fund on Saturday, August 24th from 1-4pm. We will be serving 1/2 BBQ chicken, Sharon's famous cheesy rice casserole and salad all for $10.00. We will also be holding a raffle and 50/50. Hope to see you there!!
