Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information 01/11/2018 3:43am 21000 W Nine Mile Rd. (Gas Station) Sledge Hammer was used to break out glass on front of gas station. Officers responded to alarm at business. Upon their arrival, they discovered good B&E of the business. Video surveillance showed two male suspects approach from the south side of the building. One of the suspects is carrying a sludge hammer. They turn around and walk back to the south side of the building. Shortly after, what appeared to be a White 4-Dr Pickup Truck, possible Dodge, pulled in through the west exit off Lahser. The truck pulls all the way through the lot and backs into a parking spot near Nine Mile Rd. The two suspects again approach from the south side of the building towards the main entrance. The suspect with the sledge hammer proceeds to strike the door several times and breaks out the plexiglass window. The two suspects enter the business and immediately go to the ATM. They both attempt to remove the ATM Machine but are unsuccessful in fully removing it. They rapidly leave the building and head towards the truck that was in the parking lot. The truck pulls out of the gas station quickly heading west on Nine mile and then turns south on Lahser. The two suspects were approximately 6'-0, large build, wearing jeans, blue & purple hoodies, and black gloves. No items were taken from the business.

From: 01/08/2018 12:00am To: 01/09/2018 8:00am 27000 Northwestern (Vacant Building) Side door to vacant building was pried open. Victim owns the building in the 27000 Block of Northwestern Hwy. The building used to be a restaurant but is vacant now. On 01/09/2018 at around 5:00pm victim discovered that someone had broken into the building and stolen the furnace. Victim discovered the lock on the side door had been pried. Victim later realized there was water leaking because the furnace had been stolen from the building. 01/12/2018 4:32am 30000 Southfield Rd. (Commercial Coffee) Brick was thrown through the Drive Thru Window. The store manager for business came into to work to open and discovered someone had thrown a brick through the Drive Thru Window and entered business. It was determined that incident occurred sometime between 10:15pm and 4:32am. A set of keys for the cash registers and a lock box containing personnel information was taken. Surveillance photos from business shows that the suspect is a W/M, 40-55 years of age, wearing a blue jacket with a grey hoodie. Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information From: 01/08/2018 9:30am To: 01/08/2018 1:42pm 26000 W Twelve Mile (Apartments) Dead Bolt was forced open. Victim states sometime between 9:30am- 1:42pm someone forced entry into his apartment sometime between 9:30am- 1:42pm. Several electronic items are missing from the apartment. From: 01/09/2018 7:50am To: 01/09/2018 3:30pm 27000 Greenfield Rd. (Apartments) The lower door lock was pried. Victim states sometime between 7:50am and when her son got home from school at 3:30pm someone forced entry into apartment by prying the lower door lock. (Upper dead bolt wasn t engaged) There was a TV taken from the front living room, dresser drawers were opened in both bedrooms and a gaming system and 5 games were reportedly taken from a bedroom.

From: 01/09/2018 4:30pm To: 01/10/2018 12:30am 16000 Oxley Rd. (Apartments) Appears entry was through an unlocked bedroom window. No signs of forced entry. Victim states she left her apartment at 4:30pm. When she returned at 12:30am she noticed a cold breeze inside her apartment. Further investigation revealed that someone had entered her apartment through a bedroom window and stole several items. 3- laptops, costume and expensive jewelry, cell phone, spare change and a boy s mountain bike are missing. 01/10/2018 4:23pm 27000 Franklin Rd. (Apartments) Apartment door was kicked in. Victim states sometime between 7:30am- 4:00pm someone kicked in his apartment door, made entry into his apartment and stole several items. Security has video of incident. It occurred at 3:00pm. Suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation. 01/13/2018 10:16am 28000 Fairfax St. Side door was kicked in. Victim states sometime between Monday 01/08/2018 @ 6:00pm- Saturday 01/13/2018 @ 10:00am someone forced entry into residence by kicking in the side door. Once inside the residence, it was ransacked and several items are missing from the garage and the interior of the residence. No suspect info at this time.

Victim discovered that the Furnace and Hot Water Heater were taken. She called for her husband thinking it was him coming home but he did not answer. She looked out her window and discovered her Red Dodge Journey was missing from their driveway. Victim states there were some personal items that she had left in the vehicle as well. Officer was on routine patrol following White Chevy Malibu. Officer ran the plate on vehicle and it came back to a 1996 Toyota Avalon. (Improperly Licensed) After stopping the vehicle, it was discovered that the driver had a suspended driver s license, numerous warrants and the vehicle was a confirmed stolen out of another jurisdiction. The driver was arrested w/o incident for DWLS & R&C Motor Vehicle. (Grocery Store) Victim s wallet was taken from her Jacket pocket. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This is a common M.O. for Pick Pocketers. Citizens that carry their wallets in their jacket should carry the wallet in an inside pocket of the jacket if one is available. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Victim states she was at Grocery Store in the 18000 Block of 8 Mile Rd. Victim was in the store near the meat department and was approached by a black female, approx. 30-40 years old, 130-140lbs, around 5'-8", wearing a black jacket and black headband. The suspect was showing victim a coupon on her phone and brushed up against her as she was showing her the coupon. The suspect left after this encounter. Victim continued to shop and when she reached the checkout line she noticed her wallet was gone from her jacket pocket. From: 01/08/2018 6:56am To: 01/08/2018 4:37pm 21000 Northwestern (Park & Ride Lot) Catalytic Converter was taken from 2011 Ford Taurus. Victim parked her 2011 Gray Ford Taurus at the (Park and Ride parking lot) at 6:56am. She returned to her vehicle at 4:37pm and discovered her catalytic converter had been cut from her vehicle.

01/09/2018 7:24pm 20000 Civic Center Dr. (Apartments) Undisclosed amount of cash was taken. Officers responded to a Peace Officer Run. They were met by R/P (Victim of Larceny) The R/P requested Officers stand by while she questioned suspect regarding her missing money. R/P began questioning suspect in the presence of Officers and he made admissions to taking an undisclosed amount of cash from a jar in victim s bedroom. Some of the cash was recovered. Suspect was arrested. From: 01/10/2018 3:45pm To: 01/10/2018 6:15pm (Auto Theft Also) 28000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Fitness) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer FORD Model FUSION Color Vehicle Year 2014 Body Style State MI Description Black Ford Fusion Notes Tinted Windows Victim states sometime between 3:45pm- 6:15pm while working out at Fitness Center in the 28000 Block of Telegraph Rd someone broke into his locker, stole several items including his keys to his car. Victim checked the parking lot and discovered that his 2014 Ford Fusion was stolen as well. Victim had his wallet stolen out of his locker. His wallet contained several items of identification and credit cards. Victim stated his work laptop and his work cell phone were in the vehicle at the time it was stolen.

01/10/2018 9:52pm 25000 Greenfield Rd. (Apartments) Attempt LFA most likely were going to take Wheels & Tires from 2016 Dodge Challenger Victim states that a neighbor came to her apartment and informed her that two men wearing white masks broke into her vehicle at approximately 9:30pm The front passenger side window was broken, the glove compartment was left open and the wheel lock was missing. The two unknown suspects were scared off after a bedroom light was turned on in an apartment. The two suspects fled on foot. One suspect was wearing a white mask, grey hoodie, and dark pants. Another suspect was wearing a white mask, black hoodie, and dark pants. The suspects weren t located at this time. 01/11/2018 5:23am (Arrest) 18000 W Ten Mile Rd. (Pharmacy) Window was broken out on victims 2012 Buick Verano. Cell Phone & Eyeglass Case were taken and recovered. Several Officers responded to the 18000 Block of 10 Mile Rd (Pharmacy) for a Larceny From Auto (LFA) that recently occurred. Dispatch advised the R/P's vehicle window was broken and a cell phone was missing. Dispatch advised a black male approx. 5'-6" tall, wearing a black hoodie with a bulky coat is suspected of the LFA. Victim stated she arrived at pharmacy at approx. 5:24am. Victim observed a B/M enter the CVS and walk back out as she was entering the store. Shortly after the male exited the store, victim heard her vehicle alarm sounding off. She went outside and noticed her front driver side window was broken, and her cell phone was missing

from the front driver side seat. Victim later, noticed her empty eyeglass case was missing from the center console. Surveillance video shows suspect leaving pharmacy and throws a rock through the car window. The suspect is then seen reaching into victim s car and takes victims cell phone and eye glass case. The suspect fled on foot. Victims eyeglass case with blood on it was recovered nearby. A Southfield Police K-9 Unit did a track that went to the front door of a residence in the 18000 Block of Jeanette. There was also blood spatter on the sidewalk leading up to the front door. Officers made contact at the residence with the homeowner. The homeowner told Officers that her Grandson had just gotten home and his hands were bleeding. Officers were given permission by the grandmother, who was the owner of the house to search the house. Officers located and recovered victims cell phone in the laundry room and the suspect was taken into custody for Larceny from Auto. Great job by the Southfield Police K-9 Officer and his K-9!

01/12/2018 8:57am 16000 Carriage Trade (Apartments) In-Dash Stereo/ Navigation System was taken. Victim states he parked and locked his 2016 Chrysler 300 at 4:00pm. The following morning at 8:30am victim returned to the vehicle and observed that a rear window on his vehicle was broken out and his In-Dash Stereo/ Navigation System was stolen. 01/12/2018 6:46am 16000 Oxley Rd. (Apartments) Navigation System was taken from 2015 Dodge Charger. Victim states sometime between 10:30pm and the following morning at 6:30am someone broke out window on her 2015 Dodge Charger and took her Navigation System. Victim states there were also other items missing from the vehicle. Speaker box, Tool box with misc. tools and a Gucci bag with items inside the bag. From: 01/11/2018 9:45pm To: 01/11/2018 9:50pm 28000 Greenfield Rd. (Office Building) Status S - Stolen Manufacturer RC Model RWT 7X12SA License No. Color WHI - White Vehicle Year 2016 Body Style TR - Trailer State MI Description White RC 7x12 enclosed trailer Victim states the trailer was parked in the parking lot near a business in the 28000 Block of Greenfield Rd. Surveillance video from the business at 9:45pm, shows a White Pick Up Truck pulling up to the trailer, attaching the trailer and driving off. No further information at this time.

From: 01/11/2018 8:30pm To: 01/12/2018 9:00am 25000 Shiawassee Cir. (Condo) Radio Navigation System and a Pr. of Sun Glasses were taken from victims 2016 Chrysler 300. Victim states sometime between 8:30pm and the following morning at 9:00am someone broke out window on vehicle, stole the In-Dash Navigation System and 1- Pr. of Sun Glasses. 01/13/2018 11:21am 21000 W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial Furniture) 2- Drivers side Wheels & Tires were taken from victims 2017 Ford Taurus. Victim states she arrived at business to shop at approx. 11:00am. When victim returned to her vehicle at 11:45am she discovered that person(s) unknown had taken both drivers side Wheels & Tires off her 2017 Ford Taurus. Surveillance video of the parking lot showed an unknown Dark Colored Minivan arrive at 11:21am. 2-3 suspects exited suspect vehicle and removed victim s Wheels & Tires from the driver s side of vehicle. Suspects then fled the scene in suspect vehicle. From: 01/13/2018 5:00pm To: 01/14/2018 11:00am 23000 Orleans Pl. (Apartments) Navigation System was taken from 2016 Chrysler 300. Victim states sometime between 5:00pm and the following morning at 11:00am someone broke out a window on his 2017 Chrysler 300 and took the Navigation System. Victim states 2- B/M s entered the business, posing as customers. Victim was sitting at the front desk and assisted the suspects in their inquiries about pricing for various unit. After walking around the store for a few minutes, Suspect #1 walked up to the front counter where victim was seated and produced a handgun from his jacket, demanding money. After giving Suspect#1 an undisclosed amount of money victim was instructed to lay on the floor, face down, and count to 20 seconds before getting up. Victim counted to 30 seconds and got up. Both suspects were gone. Victim called his supervisor and then later called the Police. Officers reviewed business surveillance video and confirmed incident. Recently several citizens have had packages that were delivered to their residences and apartments stolen prior to them retrieving the packages. Citizens can prevent this from happening by scheduling a specific time to have the package delivered and be waiting for the package. Citizen can also schedule the package to be picked up by themselves at the common carrier facility. (Especially Handguns, Purses, Wallets, Cash & Cell Phones!) - If you have a garage you should park your vehicle in the garage and lock the garage. - Wheel Locks are a deterrent but don t leave the wheel lock key in the interior of your vehicle, especially the center console or glove box. This is the first place they will look for the wheel lock. -After parking your vehicle turn your wheels all the way to the right or the left. This will make it difficult to get the lug nuts off the front wheels. -If you don t have a garage, try to park your vehicle as close to your residence as possible. Possession of Marijuana/ CCW- 3- Arrests 01/12/2018 1:01pm Telegraph Rd. & W Eight Mile Rd. Shortly before 1:00am dispatch put out information received from another jurisdiction regarding shots fired in the area of Five Mile and Telegraph Rd. The vehicle involved was a dark Sedan possibly a Toyota that fled north on Telegraph Rd. Southfield Officer was at Telegraph Rd. & 8 Mile Rd. when the BOL came out. Officer observed a Blue Chevy Impala with an Ohio Plate occupied by four subject s N/B on Telegraph. Officers stopped the vehicle w/o incident. Officers investigation revealed that the driver had a suspended driver s license and a CCW Warrant. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was searched. Officers recovered a handgun in the back seat of the vehicle. The other three occupants in the vehicle were also arrested for CCW. One of the other three occupants also had some suspected marijuana on his person and he was charged with Possession of Marijuana. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested a sample of the suspected marijuana. The result was positive for possible presence of marijuana. Further investigation by Southfield Police Detectives it was determined that the driver was responsible for the handgun that was recovered from the vehicle. -If you here any loud noises near where your vehicle is parked, especially during the late night or early morning hours, attempt to look outside without alerting anyone and if someone is tampering with your vehicle immediately call 911, (Do Not Approach

Stay on the phone with Dispatchers until the Police arrive. -Lots of lighting around the area(s) that you park your vehicles is also very beneficial. Criminals don t like to work in well lighted areas. They prefer to work in darkness because it s difficult to see them.
