Membership Requirements: Attend 2 meetings or club functions per year Have a valid driver s License Own a Mustang or Cougar Provide proof of liability insurance Be 18 years or older or join with parents as a family membership Annual Dues Single: $17.00 Family $20.00 www.suncountrymustang.com SCMC Board Minutes Sun Country Mustang Club Board Meeting 3/19/14 President David Hawkins brought the meeting to order at 7 p.m. at Magic Jack s Pizza Shack. Others in attendance were Ray Fletcher, David Mitts, Jan & Guy Anderson & Jeannette & Dave Biddle. Treasurer reported $1675.31in checking after paying $313 for insurance, $51. For name tags and $30 for copies of flyers. There is also $2008.46 in savings. The Zillah Spring Fling will be April 26 April 27 Old Steel Car Show at Fulbright Park in Union Gap May 3 Yakima Eagles Car Show (4 th & Chestnut) May 16-18 Moxee Car Show, cruise on the 17 th May 25, Memorial Day Weekend, Tri City Car Show September 21 st, our own Sun Country Car Show Wednesday, June 4 will be a cruise at Kings Row in Selah at 5:30 or 6 p.m. We need to encourage our members to attend as many as these shows as possible and invite all of the attendees to attend our own September car show. David Mitts will have some more cards printed up with our membership info that we can put on windshields to invite membership. He will also bring SCMC patches to our next meeting for us to put on shirts. He also reported that the hats & sun visors will cost $5.25 with the design that we want. Doug, owner of Better All Motors, would like to buy 50 hats to give with his Mustangs when he sells them. He was also discussing paying membership fees for anyone who buys a Mustang from him. We discussed some of the problems that might incur. It was agreed that David Mitts would be Show Chairman. SCMC General Meeting Sun Country Mustang Club General Membership Meeting March 26, 2014 President David Hawkins brought the meeting to order at 7 p.m. at Magic Jack s Pizza Shack. Treasurer reported $1675.31 in checking and $2,028.46 in savings. Mid Valley Insurance premium of $313 for the year has been paid, name tags were paid and all yearly bills have been paid. A few people still owe dues. President David reminded everyone that our goal for our September car show is 200 cars, and we need to go out to other car shows and promote it. Upcoming activities include: March 29 is a car show at Sunnyside High School at 10 a.m. $10 registration March 30 is a car show at East Valley High School from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for $5.00 April 26 Zillah Spring Car Show (not the 19 th ) (meet at 8 a.m. at K-mart so we can drive down together) April 27 Old Steel Car Show at Fulbright Park in Union Gap (meet at the Bingo hall old Layman s Market in Union Gap at 8 a.m.) May 3 Yakima Eagles Car Show (4 th & Chestnut) May 16-18 Moxee Car Show, cruise on the 17 th May 25, Memorial Day Weekend, Tri City Car Show (meet at Kmart at 7:30) September 21 st, our own Sun Country Car Show David Mitts reported that he took flyers for our show to the Yakima Car Show at the convention center. Hats are still in limbo as he has not received the samples yet. Better-All Cars would like to buy 50 hats and give them to customers who buy their Mustangs. They also talked about buying memberships into our Mustang Club for new Mustang owners. The Horse Heaven Mustang Club will be driving thru Yakima on the way to the 50 th Anniversary Great American Pony Drive. They will be at Miners on April 5 for lunch and would like us to join them and we could also join them on the drive down to the Tri Cities Hanford Observatory. David Mitts has SCMC flags, badges, and let him know if you need name tags. New member Roberta (sorry, did not get the last name) introduced herself. She has a red 1966 Mustang. Still need people for the midnight to 6 a.m. shift for the Coffee Stop on June 8 (early Sunday morn). You need to bring any supplies to the next meeting. Need Coffeemate, Cocoa, water, lemonade, coffee, cookies. Yakima Sportscar Club in Moxee will not be holding their car show this year. We discussed our car show, and agreed to a $15 pre-registration fee and $20 registration at the door. We will stay with the same classes. Pony Trail on Saturday, at 9:30 a.m., to Tom Denschel Ford in Prosser with a barbecue is tentative. Saturday night, the cruise will be at Majors on Lincoln at 6 p.m. Dave Biddle won the door prize, and Opal Duffield won the 50/50 drawing. Coffee stop Friday June 6th, to take down, Monday 9 th We are looking for someone to fill the time slot Saturday night midnight-sunday morning, midnight to 6AM. We also need supplies. 4 members are supplying coffee. We need 8 more cans. We need 1 can of decaffeinated coffee. Here is the rest of the list 2 large creamers (Costco size) or 3 (about 22 oz.) no packets I lemonade (Costco size) or 2 of the smaller size 5 cocoa, (cans, not packages) 1 box of tea bags 5 cases of water We will have to purchase cups, lids, and any other supplies that are not donated. I also need cookies. Guy was going to look into that. I know there are members that can't work a shift. You can be a part by helping with supplies. If you want, you can give cash. I will do the shopping If you have a question, PLEASE, give me a call. I realize we have two meetings before the coffee stop, but I would like to start collecting now so that, I have a little time at the end to prepare. Velda EAST VALLEY CAR SHOW (Sunday Mar29th) We had 5 cars from our club. We counted 37 cars total. There was quite a variety of cars, old, restored, not so much, new, and newer. A participant trophy was awarded. This boy had really done his home work. They did a 50/50 (2--I think, for those that missed the first one) several prizes, including an overnight stay and dinner. Claude Johnson was the winner of that. Claude isn't one of our members but he participates in some of our activities. Judy won something (not sure what). He had meal deals including soda or water for $2.00.!! The money went to Children s Village. He announced at the end of the show he had $600.00 to contribute. He also said he had no idea how much work it was to put on a show! I was glad I went. It was a nice relaxing day. Velda Membership Dues This is a reminder that SCMC dues are past due.
