Exotic Wings #48: Japan LITE The Land of The Rising Sun holds some of the most exotic machines and squadrons in the world. Travel to Japan often takes a chunk of time, perhaps more than two weeks due to the distances involved and the amount to see. However, we recognise that time is precious and the EW #48 Goals EWG1: Shoot in the best locations outside Hyakuri - the last JASDF Phantom base - from all possible vantage points. EWG2: Cover the iconic F-4 Phantom ops before it s too late, with withdrawal coming soon. enigmatic Phantom is in its final days so this is a short, sharp and very sweet photography trip to solely concentrate on the operations of the F-4s at Hyakuri from the superb vantage points at the base. Numbers are rapidly dwindling, with the RF-4s in their final year of ops and just one squadron of F-4EJs left. Expect all sorts of lighting conditions and, due to the spring season, some beautiful colours in this land of awesome action! EWG3: Visit in a different season than our usual Japan trips, allowing for different lighting and enriched spring colours. This will be our 22nd time shooting in Japan, we know it well. It is time to travel to the Land of The Phading Phantom again and let the adventure begin! Rich Cooper, COAP
