Be sure to join us for the CCR membership meeting at Vintage Motorcars in Westbrook on Saturday May 17 th. Check out their websites listed on the cover. It looks like a very interesting restoration shop. Our Spring Banquet was held at Violi s Restaurant in Meriden on April 5 th and a good time was had by all. See pictures elsewhere in this issue. Our CCR 40 th Annual Car Show is scheduled for Sunday June 8 th. The ad book form is included in this Distributor so you can continue contacting your advertisers. Contact Travis Cook or any Board member if you have a suggestion for a future club meeting. If you are receiving a paper copy of THE DISTRIBUTOR, and you have access to a computer, go to our website www.cenconnaaca.org to see the electronic version. All of the pictures are in color. President s Message May 2014 Please Note: Our annual (5/26) Memorial Day parade will still be on, but, there will not be coffee & donuts at John Aucoin s before and no get together after the parade. We will stage at our normal staging area on Stanley Street at 9:00 AM in the morning for those that are still interested in doing the parade. John is in ill health, our thoughts and prayers go out to John and Patty. Next Our car show is upon all of us. All of our memters should be out there getting ads. Even the smallest of our ads will total good numbers if we take the time and effort to make the contacts with the potential advertisers. Think positive when you touch base a $20.00 ad is better than no ad at all. On a lighter note I called Ray Lichota. He has two more treatments and 5 to 6 weeks of recovery. Ray sounded good and he has a very positive attitude toward his recovery. I also asked Ray to come to our show and join us at the announcement tent for the show just sit back and relax. I know we would all like to see Ray and talk to him during his recovery. Ray, we all thank you and Betty for all that you have done for us over the years. Travis Cook, President My president s picture still has to be given to Bob, so, I asked Bob to add a mustache to the smiley face so that I would be more recognizable to all of our members. Our next meeting will be: Saturday May 17, 2014 at 10:00 AM Vintage Motorcars 2000 Boston Post Road Westbrook, CT 06498 Until next time safe motoring! Travis Cook, President CCR-AACA 860-462-1067 cell phone. I just learned this morning, Wednesday May 7 th, that long-time CCR member John Aucoin has passed away. We offer our sympathy and prayers to John s wife, Patty, and his family. John has contributed much to our CCR-AACA club and will be missed by all. Membership Matters By Ray Yirga, Membership Chairman As mentioned in the past Distributor, the AACA sends us four free memberships each year for new AACA members. I have three left, so if you know of someone who might be interested in joining our club, they would only have to pay our dues of $15, and receive the required AACA membership free for the first year (2014). Please call me at home (860-651-9893) or at work (860-493-0043). Did You Know? It has been well publicized that 2014 is the Ford Mustang s 50 th anniversary. But, did you know that 2014 is also the 50 th anniversary of the Pontiac GTO, the Plymouth Barracuda and the famous Mopar 426 Hemi engine? 3

Secretary's report was read and accepted Treasurer's report was read and accepted OLD BUSINESS April 1, 2014 BOD MEETING Central Ct Region AACA Meeting Called to Order at 7:00 PM Fox Laminating, West Hartford We have three members who have not paid dues for 2014. They will be contacted so we can have a yes or no answer. We finally got permission to use the site of our show from the owners. NEW BUSINESS Our annual Car show is June 8th. We need to get contracts out to the vendors we have had in the past. As of today we have 31 people signed up for our banquet. Note that our show flyers will be available at our banquet. We are getting close to the deadline to place ads in our meet book. It has to go to the printer soon. Ben Bereza is looking for early cars for the Goshen show put on by the Litchfield Hills Car Club in August. If any member can help out, contact Ben at 860-283-8398 or bbereza@juno.com. If one club can help another that's a good thing. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 PM Paul Bosco, Secretary Hey Fellas; Our Annual Car Show is Coming June 8th... And along with that is the Meet Book, of which I am the Chairman. I have distributed lists of previous advertisers to those members that have sold ads to them in the past. So this is a reminder to get an early start because the deadline is May 16 th to get your ads in to me. This is also an appeal to those members that have not sold ads before. Need help? Call me. Get some fliers announcing our Car Show, some meet books from previous years and some contract forms and begin. See your Suppliers and people you do business with, Business Acquaintances, etc. Look at the ads in the Meet Books to give you ideas where you could sell. The revenue we generate from these ads helps to make our Car Show a success and go to donating to local charities that we do each year. Thanks, Nick Nesci 860-828-1643 4
