SUMMER CAMP ADVENTURE It all starts with our outstanding camp counselors. A camp is only as good as its staff, and we are extremely proud of ours. Talent, creativity, love of children, leadership and devotion make our camp counselors the heart and soul of the program. We take our camp programs seriously and begin our summer with intensive staff training and orientation. Camp counselors and specialists are doing exactly what they enjoy most: spending a summer inspiring campers to explore, reach for new heights, and expand their horizons. Camp Chesterbrook Academy gives you choices. Camp includes five days of activities, from 8:30 am 3:30 pm. You can choose to add extended hours and specialty camps to your menu of summer fun. New Skills + Big Fun TechCamp = Enthusiastic Leaders Our engineering and robotics activities introduce TechCampers to mechanical and programming concepts. Video game design activities teach children the fundamentals of programming and creating stories and characters. If your TechCamper has visions of becoming a great fashion designer or a renowned architect or artist, then our graphic design and digital art program will introduce them to new and exciting technologies. Our animation and digital video production activities introduce TechCampers to stop motion, live action and digital cell animation production. Our highly trained staff are "adventure guides" who help to select programs for TechCampers that suit their age, area of interest and skill level to help maximize the fun for all TechCampers and let them experience the thrill of success. While TechCamp is great fun, its curriculum is developed to ensure real-life application of skills learned. We have many examples of TechCampers applying knowledge gained in TechCamp to make real, significant progress in their academic lives. Design Engineering Game Making Animation Engineering programs introduce participants to a variety of mechanical concepts. Children will learn about topics such as gear ratios, locomotion and energy as they construct a variety of mechanisms using LEGO and other hands-on and takehome building materials. Gamemaker programs teach students the fundamentals of programming and video game design. Students will create and develop a storyboard and bring characters to life (we have a no-violence policy). Completed games will be made available for at-home use. The animation work-shop introduces students to stop motion animation production.
