We found a biohazard warning on a locked door with plastic drawn across the doorway he said he was given no warning of what was happening. Thanks to his quick thinking we were still able to meet at The Red Cross in another room upstairs. Mike called the meeting at 7:09 with 20 members and guest present. He led with introductions but not the pledge of allegiance due to the absence of a proper flag. Joe KD8AFM made and Mary WA8LZA seconded the motion to accept the meeting minutes as published within the Harmonic newsletter. Duane KC8AUY commented about those that helped with Care Break before presenting his report. Emmett NE8B made and Joe KD8AFM seconded the motion to accept the Treasurer s Report. Minnie KD8PAZ presented the swap report that included Alpena, Muskegon, and Madison Heights.

Dave W8DW reported on upcoming contests. Included the School Round-up, Oceana Islands DX contest that includes Hawaii, Worked all Germany, and seven state QSO parties. Upcoming events: will include breakfast tomorrow, Board Meeting at Biggby Coffee on Oct 14 7:00. Not forgetting ARES training. Mike KD8MMH reported on the upcoming nets. Sign-in sheets were passed around as Mike KD8MMH reminded us of the upcoming Emergency Expo taking place on Oct 17. He will hope to contact Nate KD8GOW to return his equipment. While we were is the subject of upcoming events Mike KD8MMH asked if we intend to participate in the Holiday Lights in the City and invite Jim Wades KB8TBI for the occasion? Dave W8DW made and Mike KE8AVJ seconded the motion to ask him for his help offering a room, dinner, and a gas card. Dave W8DW and Emmett NE8B both reported on routing the Zombie Apocalypse saying the SET went well, except for a few glitches. I had asked the question at the past board meeting if it would be good to plan to hold the Christmas meeting somewhere else considering the condition of the basement. Duane KD8AUY asked for a show of hands willing to meet at the Saginaw Wesleyan Church hall. Mark KD8QEB immediately said the location was too far away. I will inquire if the hall will be available on the date in question. Other locations were also mentioned. The club completed the shirt order and had them to distribute them. Minnie KD8PAZ shared about a benefit for her grand nephew who has been seriously injured. The Midland Club is holding a Technician Class License class conducted by Lee KC8ITI. We were unable to show the presentation by Mike KE8AVJ due to lack of space. It will reschedule. On behalf of the Saginaw Valley Amateur Radio Association I would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the generous donation of a Yeasu 897 by Dr. Edward Allport AJ2S noted plastic surgeon, pilot, and ham operator living in Frankenmuth. One might remember he also gave us several sections of Rohn 55 tower. These kind donations can be used for station improvements and help with MS walks in Frankenmuth and Midland, Field Day operations. The transceiver and the tower sections will serve us well. Dave W8DW reported on the status of the club and other repeaters and the plans for them. He was able to attend the Michigan state repeater council. Mike KD8MMH had Mike KE8AVJ print up certificates for the Care Break campers that logged the most hours at the Rest Area. Duane KD8AUY requested that we gather our best junk maybe gathering fine bargains, like at rummage sales to bring to the auction. Emmett N8EB made and Joe KD8AFM seconded the motion to adjourn at 7:58 p.m. Respectfully Submitted Michael Linton, N8XPS Secretary
