Presidents Notes Gold Strike Village Nov. 11, 2017 Our weekend started out with 17 rigs and ended up with 12 or 13 by Sunday night. But, all in all, we all enjoyed it enough that we re scheduled for next May, so reserve the 3 rd thru the 7 th, and our host will be the Johnsons and Aus ns. A er a happy hour Thursday a ernoon, we caravanned to a nice Mexican restaurant in San Andreas, and feasted on a variety of different choices. As far as I know, everyone enjoyed their meals. Friday morning was free me. A er our lunches, we gathered in the club house for a rowdy auc on put on by Dick Wood and Jerry Brick. There was everything from jewelry, kitchen things to yard art. Our auc oneers embellished the items with their own take, and there were lots of laughs. We ne ed about $250, which will go to the food fund to defray food costs in December. Friday night dinner was our pot luck and once again there was more than enough to eat. (It must be in the Standing Rules that we re required to fill our plates) Saturday was a busy day, with a Con nental breakfast followed by the business mee ng, which was followed by Bob Swanson s tech talk. A er happy hour, our wagon masters prepared an Italian theme dinner with pastas, salads and again remember the standing rules. And, then we had the gi exchange. Each rig brought a wrapped gi, then we went around the room to open and show what was brought. The gi s will be donated to a worthy cause. Sunday started off with the wagon masters variety of biscuits and gravy. I ve had B & G before, but this topped them all. Again a happy hour, then bar-b-qued hamburgers Page 1
