President s Message Hello REMTC Members, It looks like our touring season is getting off to a great start. Our last event was the Sebastopol Apple Blossom Parade. Sebastopol has a great hometown feel and the turn out for the parade was amazing. Our group of parade participants met at the CVS parking lot in Sebastopol for Donuts and to pick up our guests from the P.E.O. chapter in Sebastopol. What a truly nice group of people to have as guests in our cars. After the parade we went to Mary s pizza for lunch (I think we may need to rename our club to have food in the name). We always seem to include great food and great times with every tour. Maybe that is why our events are so well attended. May 5th will be the Safety Check. I know I have talked about this date for months, but I really think it is going to happen this time. Please try and join us for this great event. I am sure it will be the first time in history that Corned Beef and Cabbage has been served on Cinco de Mayo. You do not want to miss this historic event. A true fusion of Irish and Mexican heritage; I am sure it will be a blast. At the next club meeting on May 3, I will give an update on the Overnight tour. We have a host hotel and RV accommodations in Grass Valley and more information will come very soon. I encourage members to try and make it to our Overnight tour. We have sooooo much fun on these tours they have been legendary in the past. All for now, look forward to seeing all of you soon, Chris Special T Tools This month features the very first KR Wilson tool made for repairing Fords by the Buffalo manufacturer, who went on to provide thousands of tools for Ford garage mechanics. This tool set fixtures each of the Model T transmission drums so that the replacement bushings can be reamed on center to exact specified diameter. The tool ensures a smooth cut that is also perpendicular to the drum service to prevent any wobble in the final assembly....neat! 3

Saturday, April 28th was our 3rd flash tour. We met for donuts to start us off on a beautiful Sonoma County morning. Chris led us to a tour on Green Valley Rd. which passes beautiful green meadows and eventually turns to a forest of redwoods. We came out on Hwy. 116 and followed that to Mays Canyon, a perfect Model T Road. Little farms are tucked into the forest and horse pastures. A big longhorned bull watched our progress with a wary eye. We came again to 116 and crossed the river into Guerneville and out River Road to Northwood Lodge. We sat on the patio overlooking the golf course and enjoyed breakfast or lunch. Flash Tour #3 Those attending were: Ted and Di Shimkowski, Steve Vining and guests, Cindy met us at Northwood. Mal & Gwen Brown, Con & Fran Faraudo, Pete & Ginny Rich, Chris Rich. Steve & Jeanne Nelson in their beautiful speedster. Andy Clary. Dexter came to see us off but didn t tour. Donna Jones, who I don t think has missed a tour in her beautiful 1914 Roadster Pickup. Perfect way to start a weekend! 8
