NICOYA PENINSULA, COSTA RICA Southern Nicoya Peninsula Hosting three natural park reserves, all home to unique species of wildlife, making the southern Nicoya a one of its kind location in Costa Rica. Cabuya Montezuma Mal Pais Cabuya is situated at the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula, at 7km from Mal Pais (surfer s beach), 7 km from Montezuma and 2 km from the Cabo Blanco reserve, Costa Rica s oldest protect wildlife region. Car access is also provided by driving down to Puntarenas (45 minutes), take the ferry over the Gulf of Nicoya to Paquera (1 hour) and finally drive through a breathtaking landscape across Tambor, Cobano and Montezuma to Cabuya (1hour).
