Student Code of Conduct To ensure the maximum benefit and enjoyment is gained from their stay at Manor Adventure, students are required to abide by the following rules:- Outside NOT to use any of the outdoor pursuits during free time, as these are potentially dangerous areas without safety equipment or correct instruction TO listen to instructions and advice of the instructors during the outdoor pursuits TO arrive at the assembly point on time and be correctly dressed for each outdoor pursuit TO keep the site tidy for the duration of your stay Inside NOT to take drinks into the dormitories NOT to go into other peoples dormitories TO keep the dormitories tidy and attend room inspection each morning at 8.50am TO take care when using the bunk beds TO make no noise that can be heard outside the dormitory after lights out TO enter buildings through the boot rooms and take outside footwear off before entering the buildings General NO TO smoking or drinking of alcohol on site is allowed report any damage however caused
Care & Wellbeing Our purpose is to provide a high quality experience in a safe and caring environment. Medical & dietary details Manor Adventure can cater for a range of medical or dietary requirements, as long as we are informed in advance please complete all details in the Operations pack which must be returned prior to your visit. We would like to know about any congenital complaint and/or standard child illness e.g. asthma, allergies, epilepsy etc. Medical emergencies: Doctors on call at local Medical Practices and nearest A&E Hospitals if required Meal times Manor Adventure provides three meals everyday for guests. Arrival day: first meal is evening meal Departure day: last meal is lunch Menus vary day to day. There is always a choice of hot and cold dishes, vegetarian options and a fresh salad bar, with meals served in a communal dining area. We must be made aware of any specific religious or specific dietary requirements so that we can cater for them accordingly. Special needs, major illness or disabilities We must be advised at the time of booking if any child is currently experiencing, or has recently experienced, any major illness, disabilities, behavioural or social problems such as ADHD or Asperger s Syndrome. We can support many needs as long as the party leaders make us aware at the earliest opportunity.
Care & Wellbeing continued Accommodation Dormitories are simply furnished with bunk beds. Pillows and a bottom sheet are provided. STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO BRING A SLEEPING BAG & PILLOWCASE. Teacher accommodation is in twin rooms nearby to the students, nearly all of which have en suite facilities. Adults share twin rooms. Lockerbie Manor and Abernant Lake Hotel all rooms are en suite. Culmington Manor the majority of rooms are en suite please refer to centre for specific accommodation blocks.
What to pack Here s a list of things you ll need to pack along with a few that aren t essential but could be useful. Things you need Luggage please restrict this to one case plus one piece of hand luggage. (Metal frames rucksacks should be avoided as they are difficult to fit into the coach) Sleeping bag (is best) or Duvet Quilt with cover & Pillowcase A drink bottle (essential in the summer) Torch (for overnight camp or evening walk) Rucksack (for overnight camp) Toiletries etc (please note deodorants must be roll-on, no aerosols) Old clothes for activity sessions (long-sleeved shirts/jumpers, trousers / jogging bottoms (Not denim jeans), T-Shirts and closed-toe shoes are required for nearly all sessions so bring plenty). Clothes, shoes and underwear for other times. Waterproof clothing (jacket / trousers) Large plastic bag for dirty clothes Bath towels x 2 Hat & Gloves in the winter Sunglasses, sun cream and hat in the summer Pyjamas and slippers Swimming kit if you have swimming on your programme (this applies for Culmington Manor only) Useful items Books, playing cards and other quiet activities Money for snacks (sweets & drinks), souvenirs (i.e postcards). Please bring coins not notes. Useful notes No wellies Please name all clothing Denim jeans are not ideal for outdoor use Manor Adventure can t accept liability for the loss of any personal property brought to our centres so please don t bring any valuable items, expensive clothing and footwear, mobile phone, handheld games consoles etc. We re unable to store them and they will not be insured whilst on centre.
Abseiling Adrenaline activity and develops inner confidence. Blind Trail Experience life without one of the senses we take for granted. Develops communication & listening skills. Fencing Learn the basic rules and skills such as stance, lunge, parry and repost. Low Ropes A series of cabled and roped events. These will test your stamina, coordination and agility. Activities Raft Building Design and build a raft to carry your group across the lake Orienteering Children are taught in small teams to map read, so to enable them to locate clues around the centre's grounds. Climbing On site purpose-built climbing tower Zip Wire Climb to a platform using a rope ladder and descend via a 70 metre zip wire.
