Here's a part of the story: "This is truly an investment on Alberta's future," said MacEwan president David Atkinson, adding the university "deeply appreciates" the province's "vote of confidence" in the institution. "The expansion will enhance the arts district and contribute to the transformation of downtown," added Atkinson, noting the new arena is going up on 104th Avenue to the east of MacEwan and the Royal Alberta Museum just north of City Hall. The project will go out to tender early this summer. "We want to move forward; there are a lot of competing pressures," Atkinson said. It's magic! Here's a part of the story: Author Richard Wagamese's gala public reading at MacEwan University has been postponed due to unspecified health reasons, it was announced Tuesday. Wagamese's 2012 novel, Indian Horse (Douglas & McIntyre), was selected as the 2013 MacEwan Book of the Year. The British Columbiabased writer was due to appear at the university on March 17 for the reading, which was to include a Q&A with Edmonton author Richard Van Camp.
