The western style hotels used in the cities may be compact but will be en-suite and provide you with everything needed (e.g. TV, fridge, tea making facilities, hairdryers, & complimentary toiletries). In a Japanese style inn (ryokan) the rooms tend to be larger with tatami (woven mat) flooring. Bedding there is usually futon mattresses on the floor. Day 1 (May 19) D - Tokyo Meet in Haneda Airport, Tokyo. Transfer to the hotel. Welcome dinner: Sumida River Cruise dinner. Viewing Tokyo s night light from the river, we will enjoy Tempura course dinner on the boat. @ Asakusa View Hotel or similar Day 2 (May 20) - Tokyo One day bus sightseeing tour. We will visit Imperial Palace, Ginza, Asakusa Sensoji and Sky tree, highest building in Japan. Most of the Tokyo s iconic locations by our own bus, most comfortable way of travelling Tokyo. There will be some free time at Asakusa Sensoji and Sky Tree. Option: Local restaurant dining experience, $60AUD/pp (limited to 4-6ppl) @ Asakusa View Hotel or similar Day 3 (May 21) - Mt.Fuji and surroundings In the morning, we will stroll around the famous Ameya Yokocho, local s shopping street. Shopping can be shipped to the hotel in Osaka, the last destination at your own expense. After lunch, we will make our way to Mt. Fuji and surroundings (1.5 hours). Stop by at a traditional farm house village. Today, enjoy soaking up in the hot spring bath and regional degustation dinner at the hotel. @ Japanese traditional Inn, Ryokan
Day 4 (May 22) - Mt.Fuji and surroundings Early morning start to avoid the crowd, we will visit Fujishiba festival. More than 800,000 Shiba-zakura (direct translation is ground cherry, Moss phlox) blooming in a open field. (Pic:Front cover) We continue viewing majestic Mt.Fuji from one of the Fuji 5 lakes and Asama Shrine which has been worshipping Mt.Fuji since 859AD. We will also have a picturesque stop at Shirataki Waterfall. @ Japanese traditional Inn, Ryokan Day 5 (May 23) - Kyoto Today, we will make our way to Japan s jewel box Kyoto. Recline your seat and enjoy a comfortable transfer (5 hours). In Kyoto, we will walk through Fushimi Inari, thousands red gate to stretch ours legs. Option: local dining experience, $60AUD/pp (limited to 4-6ppl) @ Hotel Kyoto Premier Sanjo Kamogawa or similar Day 6 (May 24) - Kyoto It is an action packed day today. We will start our day with a rickshaw ride in picturesque Arashiyama, Sagano bamboo grove, enjoy Sagano Torokko ride along the Hozu River. Then visit the glorious Golden temple.
Tonight, we will enjoy a degustation dinner at the extended patio along Kyoto s symboric Kamo river. @ Kyoto Premier Sanjo Kamogawa or similar Day 7 (May 25) B - Osaka AM: Osaka Castle PM: Transfer to the hotel.
