Silver Sage Region, Porsche Club of America Minutes of the Board of Directors Meeting September 6, 2017 Location of meeting: Porsche of Boise Members present: President John Sommerwerck, Vice President Blair Baertsch, Treasurer Rob Grover, Secretary Linda Prusynski, Paul & Lori Kaczmarek, Walt & Mary Thode, Bob & Vicki Pentecost, Sid & Vicki Cannon, Walt Gammill, Derek Parker, Jeff Fergot, Greg Myers, Seth Nichols, Ken Robinson. Meeting called to order by President John Sommerwerck, at 6:26 pm New Business 2018 Calendar Development.--John reviewed tentative schedule for 2018. Feb./March Derek Parker agreed to continue organizing monthly Cruise Ins, as well as the tech sessions at EuroSports (Feb.) and POB (March). Decided to keep Auction in March do a SPUDS meeting/auction and use money generated for general fund. June Autocross. Will need to find a coordinator to plan/execute. John will call Expo Idaho to inquire of available dates. Blair offered to do registration again; Walt Gammill will get porta potties. Walt Gammill has offered to plan a drive to Joseph OR/Orofino in June, as well. o John Update: I called Expo Idaho and the only date available for the Autocross is May 5 th. I am thinking it will be cooler. However, this conflicts with May Coffee & Cars July John was approached by the McCall Wooden Boat group to do a joint boat show/car show in McCall on July 28 th. Aug. Rex Chandler and John met with Bogus Basin today about having an event there on Aug. 11 th. Will reserve Pioneer Lodge, have a BBQ, games, show & shine, etc. Will be asking for a committee to work on planning event. Attached is the updated DRAFT 2018 Silver Sage Schedule. Old Business A. Sage Tick Walt Thode gave update. Tick sent to printer yesterday, so should be out next week. John and Walt interviewed a few people for the editor position Frank Heinrich was chosen. Randall Shane has agreed to be the new webmaster for our club website. Bob Pentecost is still interested in finding someone willing to take over the club e- mails. B. 2017 Schedule updates (see schedule below): September a. Bear Tooth Drive Walt Gammill reports everything ready to leave Fri. am. 17 cars going. b. Cruise In Derek reports this month (Sept. 21 st ) will be at Telaya winery. c. Sun Valley trip Sept. 30/Oct. 1 st info. will be sent out soon for registration.
October a. Oktoberfast Sid Cannon reports 57 signed up so far (including 2 from High Desert region, 8 from Inland Northwest Region). b. Cruise In Oct. 19 th will be at Mad Swede Brewing. c. Charity Auction Oct. 27 th. Carole Flatter hopes to get $$ donated towards a set of tires and has asked BOD if they will make up the difference to total $800. Will likely do so, as we have in past. December a. Christmas Party Sat. Dec. 1 st at the Arid Club. Rex Chandler and John met with them recently to make arrangements. Cost will likely be $60 pp (club will subsidize about $1,000.) b. Union, OR trip in August Walt Thode B. Panorama/From the Regions John would like to have a coordinator willing to submit more articles about SSPCA activities to this column in the Panorama magazine. Walt Thode agreed to do this. Walt Gammill offered to write one up on the Bear Tooth trip. a. John Update: Jeff Fergot submitted (via email) he would take on this role. C. Gary Cuddeford is looking for volunteers to let the winning bidders of the Coffee and Cars Ride-a-long ( Boys and Girls Club Auction item) ride along in their Porsche for the Oct. 7 th Coffee and Cars. D. SSPCA Calendar update Blair reports that he has enough photos for this year s calendar. He plans to have them available for sale at Oktoberfast and also to order for delivery at the Christmas party. Next Board Meeting Weds. October 4 th, 2017, 6:30 pm at Porsche of Boise.
