Members taking part in the ride included Floyd & Pam Yoder, John & Wendy Naylor, John Harr, Rick & Jeanne Brehm, Fred & Judy Bumpernick, Pat & Linda McGough, Dan & Sue Heller, Ellie Fox & Helen Moss, Mark & Darlene Rosenbaum, Dave & Lucy Podrasky and the ride coordinators Ray & Connie Huff. We travelled to Altoona where we stopped at Friendly s for a robust breakfast. We got back on the road and travelled up I99 to I80 where we went east to the Lamar rte 64 exit and made a rest stop at the Flying J truck stop. We then continued through the lower gorge of Pa s Grand Canyon and stopped at the small village of Slate Run where we were joined by Jim & Tina Pessolano who were doing some serious biking on the Rails to Trails that runs through the Canyon. While having lunch at the Hotel Manor., we were able to view the spectacular scenery. After lunch we continued another five miles to the village of Cedar Run where we stopped for our desert, Ice Cream, at the Cedar Run General Store. We drove and Jim & Tina biked. We then continued the journey up through the canyon to Wellsboro. We checked into our motel and had some time to walk around the area and look at the shops and other attractions in town. After a little time to relax, we then went to Leonard Harrison State Park and took in the beauty of Pennsylvania s Grand Canyon. We then returned to Wellsboro where we had a wonderful dinner at The Steakhouse and then back to the motel where we enjoyed each other s company and some refreshments. On Sunday, some went to church and others took the time to relax before going to the Penn Wells Hotel for brunch, which by the way was excellent. As we started our journey home we made a stop at the Oregon Hill winery for some tasting and purchasing of wine and other products. We then continued the trip home with a stop back at the Flying J truck stop for fuel and a rest break. After that, it was down rte 64 to rte 26 and into State College passing by Rockview Penitentiary which is an awesome looking main building and back to Johnstown and home. As the ride coordinators, we would like to thank everyone that joined us on the ride and made it such a wonderful weekend. We really enjoyed the socializing and the good time we had with everyone. Thanks again, Ray & Connie
