OCTOBER 2017 Editor Kathie Richmond Tech Support Frank Richmond Frichmond1@Yahoo.com Presidents Message Hello again my fellow RAMBLERS, I hope you all had a safe and pleasant summer R.V.ing out of the awful heat of HAVASU CITY, or the desert of ARIZONA. HAVASU is my favorite city except for about 4 months in the SUMMER HEAT. Just remember we have NO EARTHQUAKES--NO FLOODS--- NO HURICANES, just nice COOL WINTERS, oh I forgot NO SNOW--- NO SNOW" We have a good list of RALLY'S coming up so I hope all of you can make them happen. I already have 9 coaches going to the AVI in NOV. please those who have not called " OMA " @ 800-284-2946 to make your own RESERVATION please do so then call me. The first RALLY of the year is in WILLIAMS AZ. and will be a lot of fun, you may go to the RIM OF THE CANYON, and BEARZONA wild animal park where the ANIMALS RUN FREE. Since MARION was not feeling too great we did not want to stray too far from HOME, so spent a few weeks in WILLIAMS, it was very nice and very COOL. The CALLAHGANS were nice enough to join us and we had a good time. Well that's about all the exercise my finger can use for now, so I'll close this letter and wish you all safe travels and " MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL " your PREZ. DON HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY IS THERE A " D " IN THE WORD FRIDGE BUT NOT IN REFRIGERATOR?????????????, 2016-2017 Rallies November 13 17 2017 AVI Casino, Laughlin, Nv Don & Marion Lay December 2017 Christmas Party January 11 15 2018 Palms RV Resort, Yuma AZ Dennis & Margie Callaghan February 20-23 2018 Desert Willow RV Resort Hesperia, California Chuck & Dorothy Michelsen March 2018 April 2018 May 2018 Don & Marion Lay Frank & Kathie Richmond Annual Meeting CHAPTER OFFICERS President Don Lay...928.453.3535 1 st Vice President Frank Richmond 928.754.2506 2 nd Vice Pres. - Robert Crow...928.453.1462 Secretary Dorothy Michelsen.928.505.6462 Treasurer Lou Sheeler...928.846.2008 National Dir. - Bob Stephens..928.680.9769 Alt. Friendly Reminder Remember club dues are due before October. Take a moment to write a check for $25.00 so you don t lose track of it over the summer. Mail to: Lou Sheeler 976 Rolling Hills Dr Lake Havasu City, Az 86406 How are you spending your summer Hope everyone has a great summer. Let us know and we will share with everyone how you spend your summer, How we spent our summer SUMMER 2017 THE FLYNN S We left on July 5th in our RV headed for The Calgary Stampede in Alberta, Canada. Took only 6 days to get there, so we were on the move pretty much every day. We had not been any farther north than Idaho Falls before, so really enjoyed going thru Montana. Lots of wide open space there! Both MT and AB were almost entirely farming country. The Stampede was a hoot, eh! Those crazy Canadians and their chuck wagon races hooking up 4 quarter horses to one wagon and running like a bat out of hell! While there, we were hosted by our snow bird golf buddies who come to Havasu for the winter. Toured Calgary & Banff, then traveled the Trans Canadian Highway over to Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. Each place was really beautiful in its own unique way; sadly, there were many fires going on which kind of limited viewing the majestic mountains. In BC, we spent 6 days sightseeing, golfing and wine tasting with friends. Got to say..we were worn out before we even began our trek back home! Came back thru Coeur d Alene, which we fell in love with. Got all the way to Salt Lake before we had trouble; could not avoid hitting a semi truck s tread that came off his tire. RV was ok, but took out the front of our tow car. Oh well, could have been worse. Got home mid- August to heat, heat, heat but still glad to be home. SPECIAL NOTE January Rally You must Call the Rv Resort early (NOW) to reserve a spot. (See Flyer Below) WE HAVE SOME NEW MEMBERS Please welcome our new member at the next rally. Terry Bitrich and Deanna Sebek from Parker Az Cal and I think Meg Bowman from Lake Havasu Allen and Barb Palumbo from Bullhead City Joke of the week Two Alabama State Troopers were pursuing a stolen car along the interstate highway toward Georgia. When the suspect crossed the state line into Georgia, the trooper who was driving pulled over immediately. "Why did you stop, Sarge?" asked the other trooper. The sergeant replied, "He's in Georgia now. They're an hour ahead of us, so we'll never catch him." Hope to see you all in October. (Thanks Carl & Debbie)
