Invitation Dear Sir or Madam, herewith we would like to invite you to the international conference Protection Systems against Natural Hazards - Durability through Systems Engineering? of the Natural Hazards Platform (PLANALP) of the Alpine Convention 13 th /14 th October 2015 Literaturhaus Munich (Salvatorplatz 1). PLANALP deals with challenges resulting from the increasing and aging inventory of protection systems against natural hazards. In a first step, a brochure titled Persistence of Alpine Natural Hazard Protection was compiled (http://www.alpconv.org/en/organization/groups/wghazards/default.html under Past Activities, Documents, Results ). These contents will now be further discussed in the conference. The Bavarian State Minister of Environment and Consumer Protection Mrs. Ulrike Scharf will open the conference. Talks and the discussions will be translated in French, Italian, Slovenian and German language, depending on the needs of participants. On 14 th October, a common excursion will introduce you to the protection systems change in the torrent catchment Habichtgraben (near Eurasburg). To participate, please register under http://www.alpconv.org/en/organization/groups/wghazards/pages/confoct15.aspx until 15 th August. Please keep in mind, that the number of participants is limited. In case of too many registrations, places will be awarded upon receipt of registration. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact - Dr.-Ing. Andreas Rimböck (Andreas.Rimboeck@lfu.bayern.de) or - Mrs. Ronja Wolter-Krautblatter (Ronja.Wolter-Krautblatter@lfu.bayern.de). We are happy to welcome you to the conference and look forward to an interesting conference with stimulating discussions. With best regards, Maria PATEK President of PLANALP Christian WANGER German representative of PLANALP
