SHORT-BREAK AND CAMPING PROGRAM JUNE TO AUGUST 2018 CHILDREN 6 TO 18 YEARS Villa Maria Catholic Homes (VMCH) provides short break/camping options to people of all ages and all abilities. Our camps are staffed with qualified support staff who are all trained in CPR/First Aid, have relevant police checks and undergo extensive training within VMCH. At VMCH we aim to deliver short breaks that provide both recreation and social support to individuals along with providing experiences within the community that can build on an individual s life skills and contribute to the achievement of their overall goals. ELIGIBILITY Suitability to camps will be determined by program coordinators and depends on the needs of the individual and the particular camp site. KEY Wheelchair accessible MODEL OF SUPPORT Our staff are there to support individuals throughout the day at the assessed staff to client support ratio however, under the DHHS funding, our camps do not operate on an Active Night Model of Support. If you do require active night support and have funding through and ISP or NDIS, you can speak with a program coordinator regarding associated costs. BELLARINE ADVENTURE Friday 15th to Sunday 17th June Our destination is Port Arlington for a weekend of rest and relaxation. We will enjoy a nearby Farmers Market, go for a walk along the coastal trail and explore the surrounding towns. Opportunity for activity choice will also be provided. BALLARAT EXPLORER Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th June This short break will offer a great experience exploring the Ballarat area. A trip to the Ballarat Wildlife Park will offer a chance to get up close with some cute and cuddly animals. You can also enjoy a walk to Lal Lal falls to view the majestic waterfall and get some fresh air. TORQUAY RETREAT Monday 9th to Thursday 12th July Price: $200.00 Drop off: 9:00am Monday at Wantirna Flexi Offices Everyone loves a holiday in Torquay! Come & enjoy a wintery week away - there is still lots to do to keep busy. There are lots of school holiday activities in and around Geelong - come and join the fun!

HORSE RIDING CAMP Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th August Drop off: Between 5:00pm and 6:00pm Friday at Wantirna Flexi Offices Minimum number of participants: 5 Participant age range: 18+ years Get ready for a fun and exciting camp with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy! Each day there is an opportunity to go on a guided trail ride through the gorgeous countryside and enjoy a picnic lunch. There is also opportunity to enjoy canoeing and enjoy the nearby towns. GEELONG ADVENTURE Friday 24th to Sunday 26th August Minimum number of participants: 5 Participant age range: 6-18yrs This weekend will have a focus Geelong & the surf coast. Pack your walking shoes to explore the expansive foreshore. Enjoy a movie, popcorn and bounce around at Airodrome Trampoline Centre.
GENERAL INFORMATION If you have questions regarding the camping program please contact a coordinator: flexirespite@vmch.com.au or megan.miles@vmch.com.au Cancellation Policy: Please provide 48 hours notice if cancelling. If less than 48 hours notice is given and a replacement participant cannot be found, parents/caregivers will be invoiced the cost of the camp. Departure time will occur at the time noted on booking form. Participants who arrive past this time will not be able to attend. Many of our young people have vulnerable immune systems. As illness spreads quickly in close contact, we ask that you do not send your child if they are unwell. In the event of an allergic reaction we request that you do not pack nuts or nut products in your child s food. If adequate food and drink is not provided you will be invoiced for the cost of providing food for your child. It is the responsibility of the parent or carer to collect their child from a location point, if advised by the Flexible Respite Coordinator. Under the discretion of the Flexible Respite Coordinator, the decision to return a participant home from an activity will be assessed and parents/guardian will be notified with incident details. Confirmation of booking is essential to attendance on the day. If this has not been received by email or phone by a Flexible Respite Coordinator attendance will not be permitted. NDIS participants can attend camps where available. The pricing structure is different to the pricing on the form. If you have recently been approved for an NDIS plan, please contact the flexi team to discuss booking and pricing.
