FINAL BULLETIN The 8 th international workshop on Ring Imaging Cherenkov Detectors (RICH2013) (http://rich2013.kek.jp/) will be held on December 2-6, 2013 at Shonan Village Center (http://www.shonan-village.co.jp/svc/) in Kanagawa-prefecture, Japan. This is the final bulletin. Scientific Program The latest conference program is available at the indico: https://www3.hepl.phys.nagoya-u.ac.jp/indico/conferenceotherviews.py?view=stan dard&confid=0 Oral speaker Please copy your presentation file (format: PDF, PPT or PPTX, Office2010) to a PC (Windows7), prepared by the organizer, using a USB stick before your talk. Poster presenter The poster board will be set up in the morning on December 2 nd. Please place your poster in the afternoon. The organizer will prepare for drawing pins and tapes. Note that no printing service is available around the conference site. How to Reach the Venue Transportation service from Narita airport on December 1 st Two buses from Narita airport to the venue, Shonan Village Center (SVC), are arranged on December 1 st : - 1 st bus : depart on 12:30 from Terminal 1-2 nd bus : depart on 18:00 from Terminal 1 There are two Terminals at Narita, and a bus leaves from Terminal 1, then makes a brief stop at Terminal 2, and goes to the SVC directly. It takes about 2 hours. Attendees who provided flight information to RICH2013 LOC can take this service.
The meeting points are following. You can find our staff holding the RICH2013 poster around Exit after passing Custom. Please follow instructions from our staff, there. Train from Narita airport to Zushi From Narita airport, you can find the Japan Railway (JR) station at B1 level for both Terminals. Please take "Narita Express (NEX)" train to Yokohama or Ohfuna. (The NEX bound for Yokohama/Ohfuna basically departs from Narita airport every half an hour.) Then, change a train to JR Yokosuka Line at the Yokohama station or the Ohfuna station. Get off at Zushi and proceed to East Exit. It takes about 2 hours. Train from Haneda airport to Zushi There are several international flight connections from abroad to Haneda airport that is located closely to the Tokyo downtown. You will go to the Keihinkyuko (Keikyu) station at F2 level, and will take Keikyu Haneda Line for Yokohama. Then, change a train to JR Yokosuka Line at the Yokohama station, and get off at the Zushi station to proceed to East Exit. It takes about 1-1.5 hours.
Zushi to SVC At the Zushi station, you will take a Keikyu bus No.16 line to the SVC at bus stop #1. The SVC is the final destination (~20 min). The SVC is located in front of you when you get off the bus. The bus timetable is shown below. Instead of using a bus, you can take a taxi from the Zushi station to the SVC. It costs ~3000 yen. Taxis are usually waiting in the station parking area. You can show a board (attached at the end) to a taxi driver for taking you to the SVC. Registration On December 1 st, registration desk is located in entrance hall at F1 level. From December 2 nd, desk is open at B1 level, where conference hall is located. Registration opens from 14:00 to 21:00 on December 1 st. During December 2 nd - 5 th registration is available in 9:00 17:00. On December 6 th, registration will be closed at noon.
Payment If you would like to pay your registration fee and/or accommodation fee at the conference site, you are requested to complete your payment at the JTB travel desk close to the registration desk, not at the SVC reception desk. The JTB travel desk accepts major credit cards such as VISA, MASTER, AMEX etc. Welcome Reception RICH2013 reception party is scheduled from 18:45 to 21:30 on December 1 st. All of participants including accompanying persons are welcome to join. The place is the foyer space in front of auditorium at B1 level. Social Programs December 3 rd : Kamakura tour from 12:30 sharp. Lunch box will be provided, and you will have it in the bus on the way to Kamakura. December 5 th : Hakone tour. We will visit Hakone national park by bus. We will leave SVC on 8:00 sharp and breakfast is available at OAK restaurant from 7:00 this morning (normally breakfast during 7:30-9:00). Banquet will be held on SVC F1 lounge (entrance hall) from 19:30. Withdrawal of Cash Most of shops and restaurants accept cash only. We suggest that you withdraw necessary cash and exchange into Japanese yen upon your arrival at airport. Climate It is cold in December; ~4 (low), ~12 (high). Normally weather is fine but sometimes we have rains.
