TREATY ANNUITY PAYMENTS Treaty annuity payments will be distributed by the federal government to eligible First Nations members this week and next at The Forks National Historic Site, behind the Children s Museum, on June 11 and June 12 from Noon to 5 p.m. SUPPORT FROM MKO and SERDC The team from MKO will continue to be at the Reception Centre from 4 to 8 p.m. each evening to provide assistance to evacuees. SERDC will be at the reception centre from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. TAXIS Get taxi chits for medical appointments from the Canadian Red Cross team at the Reception Centre from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Laundry On-site laundry Evacuees at the following hotels can access laundry on-site, for free. Each room is allowed to do laundry once every five days. The front desk at your hotel will provide you with supplies and instructions for laundry services at your site. Airport Motor Inn, Best Western Downtown, Thriftlodge, Marlborough, Motel 6, Super 8 West, Super 8 East and Travelodge. EVICTIONS If you are evicted from your hotel, please go to the Reception Centre between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. and speak with the Red Cross team. If you are evicted outside of these hours, please go to a shelter, such as Siloam Mission, Salvation Army, and Main Street, to spend the night before going to the Reception Centre in the morning. Indigenous Services Canada Indigenous Services Canada will no longer be at the Red Cross Reception Centre. If you need assistance to access information regarding your Treaty number or Indian Status, please call: 1-800-567-9604. Off-site laundry Evacuees at the following hotels must go to the reception centre at the Bulman Centre and get laundry coupons from the Red Cross. Then take a bus to Imperial Laundry at 764 Notre Dame Ave. and exchange coupons for supplies and coins for the laundry machines. Some of those activities include: Making slime Tie dye shirts Painting Jewelery making Physical activity in Games Movies every night Crafts Drop in and chat MUSEUM VISITS Manitoba Museum The Manitoba Museum is offering all evacuees the opportunity to visit for free from June 1 to 30. Evacuees just need to present their evacuee identification card to enter the museum. Canadian Museum of Human Rights All evacuees can go to the museum for free during museum hours. The museum is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for Wednesdays, when it is open from 10 a.m to 9 p.m. Just present your evacuee ID card and sign the ticket when you go there. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES City of Winnipeg All evacuees can access the city s indoor pools, leisure centres and libraries by showing their evacuee identification cards.
