ATTENTION EVACUEES RED CROSS UPDATE JUNE 10 BULMAN CENTRE RECEPTION CENTRE The Reception Centre is now located at Bulman Centre, U of W Main Campus, Basement. New Reception Centre hours are: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Pauingassi Town Hall A Town Hall for Pauingassi evacuees only. Date: Monday, June 11 Time: 2 p.m. Location: CandaInn Polo Park Ambassador Room 1234 * Snacks and coffee provided. * Stop will be added to bus loops for the event. TREATY ANNUITY PAYMENTS Treaty annuity payments will be distributed by the federal government to eligible First Nations members this week and next at The Forks National Historic Site, behind the Children s Museum, on June 11 and June 12 from Noon to 5 p.m. SUPPORT FROM MKO and SERDC The team from MKO will continue to be at the Reception Centre from 4 to 8 p.m. each evening to provide assistance to evacuees. SERDC will be at the reception centre from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday. TAXIS Get taxi chits for medical appointments from the Canadian Red Cross team at the Reception Centre from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. Laundry On-site laundry Evacuees at the following hotels can access laundry on-site, for free. Each room is allowed to do laundry once every five days. The front desk at your hotel will provide you with supplies and instructions for laundry services at your site. Airport Motor Inn, Best Western Downtown, Thriftlodge, Marlborough, Motel 6, Super 8 West, Super 8 East and Travelodge. EVICTIONS If you are evicted from your hotel, please go to the Reception Centre between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. and speak with the Red Cross team. If you are evicted outside of these hours, please go to a shelter, such as Siloam Mission, Salvation Army, and Main Street, to spend the night before going to the Reception Centre in the morning. Indigenous Services Canada Indigenous Services Canada will no longer be at the Red Cross Reception Centre. If you need assistance to access information regarding your Treaty number or Indian Status, please call: 1-800-567-9604. Off-site laundry Evacuees at the following hotels must go to the reception centre at the Bulman Centre and get laundry coupons from the Red Cross. Then take a bus to Imperial Laundry at 764 Notre Dame Ave. and exchange coupons for supplies and coins for the laundry machines. Country Inn, Royal Plaza, Comfort Inn South, Comfort Inn Airport, Canad Inns HSC, Balmoral, New Lodge, Victoria Inn, Humphry Inn, and Hilton.

If you would like to attend the Aboriginal School of Dance s special production of Te Pakohp, go to the Reception Centre for a free ticket! Limited number of tickets so pick yours up as soon as possible. Choose one of two dates: June 11 at 10:30 a.m. or June 14 at 10:30 a.m. This stop will be added to existing bus loops on both days. Loops will start at 9:00 a.m.

RECEPTION CENTRE SERVICES: BULMAN CENTRE Ma Mawi Wich Itata is providing recreation activities at several Red Cross sites including the Reception Centre, Hilton Winnipeg Airport, Best Western Charterhouse, Holiday Inn South, Travelodge and Canad Inns HSC. Some of those activities include: Making slime Tie dye shirts Painting Jewelery making Physical activity in Games Movies every night Crafts Drop in and chat MUSEUM VISITS Manitoba Museum The Manitoba Museum is offering all evacuees the opportunity to visit for free from June 1 to 30. Evacuees just need to present their evacuee identification card to enter the museum. Canadian Museum of Human Rights All evacuees can go to the museum for free during museum hours. The museum is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for Wednesdays, when it is open from 10 a.m to 9 p.m. Just present your evacuee ID card and sign the ticket when you go there. RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES City of Winnipeg All evacuees can access the city s indoor pools, leisure centres and libraries by showing their evacuee identification cards. Please see the attached pages for details on the city s pools, leisure centres and libraries that evacuees can access. FREE CITY BUS SERVICE The City of Winnipeg offers free bus service in the downtown area of Winnipeg. To see the routes of the Downtown Spirit bus service, see the attached map. ACTIVITIES IN THE RECEPTION CENTRE AREA FROM SPENCE NEIGHBOURHOOD ASSOCIATION Free Play/ Building Belonging at Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre (430 Langside St.) Ages six to Grade 6, Monday - Friday - 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Gym space, crafts, drop-in style activities, outings and snack available for those wishing to register participants into the program. Registration forms available at the front desk. Youth Drop-In at Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre (430 Langside St.) Grades 7 to 12, Monday - Friday - 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Drop-in basketball, crafts, etc. outings and snack available for those wishing to register participants into the program. Registration forms available at the front desk. West End 24-Hour safe space for youth at Magnus Eliason Recreation Centre (430 Langside St.) Weekends and School Holidays 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Ages 13-24 This provides a safe place for youth to grab a bite to eat, access essential needs and resources and have a rest. Targets youth at-risk of homelessness or unsafe housing situations and looking for a safe place in the overnight hours. Library Storytime University of Winnipeg Library staff Michael Dudley and Chris Mailloux will be hosting a storytime at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12 at the Bulman Centre. They will be reading from picture books in the library s collection. Storytime is suggested for children three years and older.
