What Peers Did After March 11 1) Gathered information 2) Set up phone services 3) Distributed handouts, information sheets for stress reduction, and supplies to colleagues in Sendai airport
After March 11 4) Opened an account to collect donations for colleagues in Sendai 5) Visited the affected areas 6) Communication, communication, communication (by email, phone, and meeting.)
Operation 1) Met with people from the ATC who had visited colleagues in the worst hit areas (3/17) 2) Provided Defusing for ATCs who were in the tower at Haneda airport (3/18) 3) Provided a lesson for a phone servicing to peers (3/30)
4) Peer visited the colleagues at Sendai to distribute handouts and to listen to their needs (3/30) 5) Followed up with the ATC members who already visited Sendai and listened to the needs of the affected area (3/31) 6) Visited colleagues in Sendai airport with supplies and handouts (4/19)

From the Questionnaires Providing both information about CIS and relaxation techniques and setting up a safe place for an open communication (group and individual) are essential to get through a difficult moment!
Others Follow up to colleagues whom we supported 1) Phone call 2) Sending a message by email 3) Visit again if needed Continuous care is also essential for CISM. We should not forget that a sense of loneliness makes it easier to develop psychological difficulties.
