12 March 2019 Breakfast, followed by a morning city tour of São Paulo: Explore one of Brazil s most fascinating metropolitan areas on this City Tour of São Paulo. During this 3 hour tour, led by a knowledgeable local guide, you will visit sites in the Pacaembu, Paulista and Ibirapuera neighborhoods. Walk through downtown São Paulo to see the Pátio do Colégio, the Municipal Theater and the Anhangabaú Valley. The tour includes the following areas and landmarks: Tour of Pacaembu Area: We start the tour with a trip to Pacaembu Football Stadium and then move on to Charles Miller Square, with stops past significant neighborhoods along the way. Paulista Area: Next up is a panoramic tour of Paulista Avenue (Brazil s financial center), past MASP and Trianon Park, with a stop to visit the House of RosesIbirapuera area. You ll have the opportunity to take photo s in Ibirapuera s Park, and also see the following prominent monuments: Obelisk, Bandeiras Monument and Palace July 9th. São Paulo Downtown: A tour of the Liberdade Neighborhood (Japanese Town), then on to Sé Square to visit the Cathedral and the Pátio do Colégio, the place where the city was founded. The tour continues crossing the old center, passing by the Church and Monastery of St. Benedict, Municipal Theater, Anhangabaú Valley, Republic Square, Duque de Caxias Monument, São Paulo Concert Hall, as well as other important historic buildings. The tour ends with a visit to Luz Station and a viewing of Luz Park and the Pinacoteca. Round-trip transportation is included in the cost. 13 March 2019 From 08h00: A full day tour to the renowned Tozan (Campinas) coffee farm. Please note that this visit is subject to a minimum number of 8 persons. This farm is of historic importance, as testimony of the confrontation of the troops of São Paulo and Minas Gerais in the Revolution of 1932. A guided visit of the farm is presented in Portuguese, but a local guide will translate the information into English for the group. A stop for lunch will be arranged in a local Churrascaria (all you can eat) meat restaurant. The tour features the following landmarks, topics and procedures: Coffee House Museum: Learn about the history of coffee and Tozan farm. The tour covers production stages, from the preparation of seedlings to processing, roasting and milling coffee. Coffee Plantation: A visit to a coffee plantation with explanations and demonstrations of the different points of maturity of the fruits, manual harvesting (melting and shaking) and mechanized harvesting. Headquarters (external visit): Overview of the construction of Tozan farm, dating from 1850: construction techniques, architecture and curiosities. Senzala: A history of slavery in the area, the first immigrants and an overview of the system of partnership (white slavery) Lookout: A high point of the farm - the third highest of the Campinas. The tour also covers the following procedures: Pulverizer: Reception of the fruits harvested in the crop, washing, separation pf the different types of fruits depending on the stage of ripeness. From 17h00 onwards: Evening entertainment: Bar Brahma Centro (this is a suggestion in lieu of the Samba School). The Bar Brahma Centro is a very traditional point in the night life of the city of São Paulo, offering varied programmes from Samba, MPB, Rock and Stand up Comedy. The famous pop singer Caetano Veloso immortalized the corner where the bar is located through a song that became the sentimental anthem of São Paulo. The Bar Brahma Centro was also a strong hold of intellectuals, musicians and politicians in the 1950 s and 1960 s. 15 March 2019 Breakfast, followed by a day of leisure. Transfer to São Paulo Airport, in time to catch your flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival in Buenos Aires, you will be transferred to your hotel.
