Embarkation Process - what to expect: Security Checkpoint You will go through the x-ray security machines with your carry-on luggage. If your luggage exceeds 24"W x 16"H x 30"L, you must see a porter to have it checked in. Check- in From the security checkpoint, you will be directed to the check-in line. Once you reach our check-in agent, you will need to present your picture I.D. and proof of citizenship, as well as establish your Sail & Sign on board account. For additional information about Sail & Sign, please click here. Once our check-in agent completes your registration, they will provide you with your Sail & Sign card. On the following ships, the Sail & Sign card is also used to access your stateroom and serve as your boarding card to get on and off the ship while in the ports of call: Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Elation, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Destiny, Carnival Triumph, Carnival Victory, Carnival Spirit, Carnival Pride, Carnival Legend, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Dream and Carnival Magic. Embarkation Souvenir Photo Our ship's photo staff will be in the terminal to capture your "Welcome Aboard" souvenir photo. This photo will be displayed on board at the Photo Gallery and available for purchase. APass (second security checkpoint) This is your final embarkation step. Everyone's photo, including infants, will be captured through our APass kiosks. Your photo will be linked to your Sail & Sign card and used at security checkpoints when getting on and off our ships.
What Is Sail & Sign: Sail & Sign is Carnival's on board cashless credit program, which allows you to charge all your services, gratuities and purchases during your cruise to your stateroom. All locations on board will accept your Sail & Sign card for payment; the casino will also accept cash. A credit card or cash deposit is needed to establish your personal on board account Registration will take place on sailing day at embarkation or on board at the Information Desk. The completed application form (included in the cruise documents) must be submitted along with a 1) credit card, 2) U.S. currency, or 3) traveler's checks. Personalized Sail & Sign cards will be provided to all guests on a booking (including minors) and are valid for use immediately upon boarding the ship. The Information Desk can provide guests with a balance update at any time throughout the cruise. How is my credit card charged? During embarkation, when your credit card is swiped, an initial approval of $50 is obtained. Then, throughout the voyage incremental holds will be obtained as needed. You should know, this will reduce the amount of available credit on the credit card or restrict the availability of cash in the checking/debit account. Authorization hold releases to your account is entirely up to your issuing bank.
All charges will be automatically billed at the end of the voyage. On the final morning of the cruise, a statement detailing all purchases made with your Sail & Sign card will be delivered to your stateroom. If you made a cash deposit and there is an overpayment at the end of the cruise, you will receive the overpayment in the form of a check, attached to the detailed statement received on the final morning of the cruise. Cash Deposit: U.S. Currency and Traveler's Checks may be used to open your Sail & Sign Account. Once on board, please visit our Guest Services Desk who will gladly assist you in opening your account. Throughout the cruise, as you approach the deposit limit, our Guest Services Desk will notify you that additional money must be deposited. "Recommended" deposits per sailing duration: 2-4 day cruises: $100 deposit pp 5-8 day cruises: $200 deposit pp 9+ day cruises: $350 deposit pp Sail & Sign- Part II
What to Wear Casual attire is the order of the day. We suggest shorts, sundresses, tank tops, etc. for the ladies, and for men; shorts, polo shirts, T-shirts, etc. will do. We suggest you wear rubber-soled, low heeled or flat shoes for extra traction while onboard. The use of any footwear with wheels, including but not limited, to Heelys shoes, is prohibited on board our ships. For dining you may want to dress up a bit and/or bring along a light sports jacket or cardigan. Most evenings we have a Cruise Casual dress code, but there are those Cruise Elegant evenings one or two nights throughout your Fun Ship voyage, where you will have the opportunity to showcase your more elegant attire. For those who want casual attire for dinner time, the Seaview Bistro on the Lido Deck is open nightly, and has a more relaxed theme. Both dress codes for the dining rooms are described below. Cruise Casual Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Sport slacks, khakis, jeans (no cut-offs), dress shorts (long), collared sport shirts; Ladies - Casual dresses, casual skirts or pants and blouses, summer dresses, Capri pants, dress shorts, jeans (no cut-offs). Not permitted in the dining room during the Cruise Casual dinner for ladies and gentlemen: gym shorts, basketball shorts, beach flip-flops, bathing suit attire, cut-off jeans, and sleeveless shirts for men. Cruise Elegant Dining Dress Code: Gentlemen - Dress slacks, dress shirts. We also suggest a sport coat. If you wish to wear suits and ties or tuxedos, by all means we invite you to do so.
