WELCOME TO DAY CAMP 2017 Dear Parents/Guardians: As the pastor of Fairview Christian Church, I am pleased that you have chosen to allow your child(ren) to attend our day camp ministry. Whether a first time attender or a repeat camper, I know he or she or they will have a fun time learning God s lessons, craft time and swimming in our lake (with lifeguards watching). Please complete the camp application, the medical release form and the photo permission sheet, then return it to the church by Saturday, May 27. Keep the camp rules page, this letter and directions to the youth camp as you will need them. A closing program will be held on Fridays at 11 a.m. You are invited to come and are welcome to join us for lunch. Hot dogs, chips and fixings will be provided. A drink machine is available for your choice of soda. Ice cream is available for a small fee. A basic map with directions is provided within the application for those who have not been to our camp facility and as a refresher to those who have. The camp staff and I hope you will be able to join us for a fun filled afternoon. Also -- the campers will be participating in a non-perishable food drive for the church's Food Closet (please, NO glass containers). The campers may bring items any day during the week. Since our closet helps families, think of what your kids like to eat -- favorite pasta, fruit, vegetable, etc., to guide your choices. If possible, stay away from things like sloppy joe mixes and meal helpers (hamburger/chicken helpers) unless the meat is contained in a can in the box, and NO out of date or near out of date items. On Tuesday of each camp week, the campers will be making tie-dyed shirts. On this day your child(ren) will need to wear OLD CLOTHING that won't matter if paint gets on it. Each year after Day Camp, a special Sunday is set aside for our campers to join us during our worship service to sing and tell the congregation about their experiences at camp. This year, that Sunday is Join us for LUNCH on Friday! July 16, which is the first Sunday after our second week of camp. We would like for all of our campers and their families to join us for church services. Sunday School is at 9:40 a.m. Worship service is at 10:45 a.m. Our campers are encouraged to wear the tie-dye t-shirts they will make at camp. We look forward to seeing you! We are delighted to have your child(ren) with us for camp and we look forward to seeing and meeting you at our Friday lunch! Sincerely, Curtis Wheeler Pastor
