MINUTES GATEWAY GTO MEETING WEDNESDAY APRIL 6, 2005 great idea. Another great Gateway GTO meeting. We are almost bursting at the seams at Culpeppers. We welcomed 2 more new members, Tom Fox and Rick Massey. Our president, Steve Hedrick, opened the meeting by asking everyone to introduce themselves, tell a little something about their car, and anything else they cared to share. We have so many new members some of us are still trying to remember names so this was a April looks to be a busy month with the following car cruises/swap meet: April 9: American Roadhouse car cruise (get there early to get a good spot) April 16: Rock n Roll car show at St. Charles Family Arena April 17: Southwestern Illinois College car show in Red Bud, IL April 24: UMB Bank Pavilion Swap Meet. Stop by A011 for a bite to eat and a cold drink with Steve compliments of the Club On May 1 Steve has arranged a cruise to Crown Valley Winery. Tiger tour $8 for adults, $4 for children. Wine tasting 7 wines for $5. Open 11-7 p.m. Live band, great fun, nice drive (GTO not required). Meet at Richardson Rd and Hwy 55 at NOON in the Schnucks parking lot. Steve needs to know as soon as possible if you would like to attend! Other May car cruises to consider: May 6: Fenton car cruise May 15: O Fallon, MO car show May 22: O Fallon, IL Auto Fest in O Fallon IL City Park Tom Oxler handed out convention registration forms to everyone. Since we are the Hosting Chapter we need to get our own registrations in now as soon as possible. The club will be providing a worker shirt for each member helping at the convention and will have extras for sale at $8 each. Remember the summers in St. Louis hot, hot, hot so having an extra on hand would be a plus. He also requested EVERY 2004 & 2005 CLUB MEMBER SIGN UP FOR THE CONVENTION. We are making every effort to attract the New GTO's and what better way of showing our Club s support than to have all 20 of our members with new GTO's attend. Next Meeting: May 4, 2005 Culpeppers 7:00 p.m. Mark Melrose won the 50/50 drawing with a total of $44. Sorry Will

Greetings everyone. First off I would like to welcome new members to the club. I want you to feel welcome and I hope you can enjoy the benefits of your membership. The meeting this month was a full house, thanks to all those that came out. It was great to here about everyone s GTO s and the life experiences behind them. I am sure looking forward to warmer weather so we can bring our cars to the meetings and enjoy seeing some GTO s. There are a few things coming up this month. April 24 is the Swap Meet at the UMB Bank Pavilion. Please stop by my spot for a cold drink and maybe a dog or burger. My spot is located on the end, #A011. Also, April 24, at Gateway International Raceway the SCAA guys are running an Autocross. So if you want to see what this is all about or get some practice in before the Nationals, here s your chance. On May 1, we have plans to cruise down to Crown Valley Winery with a tiger tour, live music and a great ride. You won t want to sit this trip out. But you do need to call or email me and let me know if you will be attending so I can get a head count for the Winery. I would also like to mention that the GTOAA Nationals are only a few months off. Please send in your registration form if you plan to show your car. Also, please contact Tom Oxler or me for information on when and where you can help. We have positions for everyone, young and old. Last but not least, I would like to mention, don t forget our sponsors. They will take care of all your GTO/Pontiac needs. See you at the next meeting at Culpeppers, May 4 at 7:00. TRAIN DERAILS 1 HURT, MANY HEARTS BROKEN April 14, 2005 a train carrying new 2005 GTO's has crashed in Blairsburg, Iowa (just outside of Cedar Rapids). Brand new GTO's in transit from California have been damaged or destroyed. As the train sat waiting for another train to pass a coal train slammed into the parked train. It was reported that about 40 GTO's were on board. All GTO's onboard were headed for east coast not MO or St. Louis and were dealer stock, no ordered GTO's were onboard. At least there might be some more parts for GTO owners around. Not sure what will become of the damaged GTO's, but I would guess Union Pacific just bought a bunch cool cars, with some minor damage. With the limited production for the 2005 GTO's this types of accidents can take a toll on the bottom line of total cars out there. GM has cut production on the 2005 GTO's to 10000 units, and will stop 2005 production on June 1,2005 with 2006 to start up on August 1, 2005. Steve

Cruise to Crown Valley Winery May 1, 2005 Come along for a day trip to the Crown Valley Winery and enjoy beautiful country drive, see some tigers, and sample some great wine while relaxing to the sound of live music, You don t want to miss this cruise. We plan to meet at the Schnucks at the Richardson Rd. exit off of Hwy. 55 in Arnold, MO we plan to meet at approximately. 11:30-12:00 and leave shortly after. We will travel south on Hwy. 61-67 to Festus, MO and continue to the winery on HWY. 61 If you have any question please call Steve 636-942-4020 Question about the winery, check to web-site www.crownvalleywinery.com

In remembrance of Mark Clatto Mark died un-expectantly on April 7, 2005. He is survived by his wife Terry, & son Mark II. Mark joined the club in May of 1985 and was member # 12. He has a triple black 1971 GTO Judge. Mark and Mark Jr. has attended many functions throughout the years and will be truly missed by all.
