2016
The Volvo ATA Safety Truck s purpose is to highlight the trucking industry s commitment to improving road safety while delivering positive messages to the broader community about the integral role of the trucking industry. The Volvo ATA Safety Truck is the safety advocate for the heavy vehicle and road freight industry and its presence at community events is valued as symbolic of support by the broader Australian trucking industry. The travelling exhibition has proven to be a successful program in engaging the wider community on road safety and how to share the road safely. In 2016, the Volvo ATA Safety Truck visited 49 schools and events and directly engaged more than 30,000 visitors who came through the exhibit and shared its key safety messages. Beyond this immediate engagement, the Volvo ATA Safety Truck s attendance at a wider range of community based events provided an advertising presence for the wider attendance at these events on the need to share the road safely, and whilst travelling more than 57,500 kilometres and when stopping at rest areas along the way.
