Didsbury Market Overview Location The town of Didsbury is located along the corridor of the QEII Highway, halfway between the cities of Red Deer and Calgary. Didsbury is approximately 80 Kilometers to both cities. More specifically, Didsbury is located in Mountain View County. Transportation Didsbury is six kilometers west of the QEII Highway, and is intersected by Highway 2A and Highway 582. Economic Activity The industry base of Didsbury is in Agriculture, Oil & Gas and Tourism. In addition to those, Didsbury offers a diverse mix of available land in both the downtown core and surrounding areas. In 2015, the town issued 313 business licenses. The town s largest employers are Didsbury Hospital, Chinooks Edge School Division, Mountain View Seniors Housing, Town of Disdbury and Tara Oilfield Services. Population As per the 2016 federal census, Didsbury had a population of 5,268 residents. The town experienced at 6.3% increase in population between 2011 and 2016. According to the town website, in 2008, the town annexed 14 quarter sections with projections of full build out capacity to be approximately 20,000 people. There is no current information on population. Tourism and Recreation Didsbury features a ninehole golf course, aquatic centre, two ice rinks, a curling rink, campground, six softball/baseball diamonds and 13 parks and playgrounds. Summary The town of Didsbury is well located along the corridor of the QEII between Calgary and Red Deer. The town offers good future development potential for both a variety of commercial and residential uses.
