The next NC811 Board meeting will be held on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, and the next State UCC meeting will be held on November 12 at Piedmont Natural Gas in Fayetteville. The next holiday observed by NC811 is Veterans Day, November 11. Lines will be open to take locate requests, but this date is not included in the 3-working day notice. Bill Hammond with the NCDOT reported on some of their projects. Several grading / drainage / paving projects are underway in the area to include various locations along the I-295 loop, Glensford Drive, and Grove Street (NC 24). Bridge replacements are underway on Grove Street and on I-95 Business. The Grove Street project is scheduled for completion by the end of November. The I-95 Business bridge replacements are expected to be completed by mid-may 2015. The bridge opening may precede the project s end date. Road widening projects are ongoing on Murchison Road (NC 210 from Honeycutt Road to Bragg Boulevard), Legion Road (Owen Drive to Elk Road), Camden Road (NC 162 to Owen Drive), and NC 24 (Maxwell Road to the Sampson County line). NCDOT also has several resurfacing projects
underway to include work on NC 87, US 301, and the All American Freeway. Resurfacing on NC 59 may be carried over to the 2015 Resurfacing Project. Hector Cruz with the Town of Hope Mills noted that their stormwater improvement project on Archer Road is nearing completion. Also, a stormwater improvement project is underway in the Town Hall area. Jeff Riddle reported on some projects for the City of Fayetteville. Drainage projects for the Yadkin Road area and the Buckhead area will let in the spring. New sidewalk projects are planned for Cedar Creek Road, Rosehill Road, and Purdue Drive. Riddle also noted that there are some changes to Chapter 24 of the civil code which will affect contractors / utilities. Kenny Hart of PWC s Water Construction Department noted that maintenance work is ongoing. Work on McPherson Church Road, Colinwood Drive, and Cumberland Street to begin the week of November 10. System-wide installation of sample stations is nearing completion ; the remaining stations will soon be installed in the Gray s Creek area.
