17 - After a fire in about 2007, semi-detached building reconstructed and modernized 455 Plan 81, Part Lot 62 1840 (Destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 2000) in Architectural and Historical Context - Was originally the site of a hotel activity, which operated from the early 19 th century under various names Forsyth Hotel, Railroad Hotel, Pipher, Proctor and the King George Hotel. - 2-storey structure on stone rubble foundation with brick cladding. - Mid-Victorian style construction. - L-shaped floor plan; intersecting gable roof with gable facing street. Margaret Forsyth 458-460 Plan 81, Part Lots 65 & 71 C. 1880-1885 LACAC 3/8/1995 Residential - James Forsyth purchased the property in 1848 he built this structure. - The property and residence was inherited by his wife Margaret Forsyth., who continued to operate the hotel until leasing it to Joseph Pipher in 1897. The brick for the building came from the Stickwood Brick Yard on Srigley. - 2-bay façade; side entrance. - 2-storey bay windows on north and east facades with small mansard roof and paired brackets. - Chimney on west side. - Small attic window in gable. - 1x1 windows - Side veranda with chamfered posts and brackets. - 2 storey brick building on a concrete foundation. - Gambrel roof with projecting eaves facing front façade and projecting verges. - 8 Bays. 464 Plan 81, Part Lots 65, 71 and 72 1939 Commercial in - 2 original brick chimneys remain. - Brick arched voussoirs over window and door openings. - Diamond shaped window on east elevation - Unique style/design in comparison to surrounding buildings. - Windows have aluminum frames and stone sills.

Architectural and Historical Context - d the woodworking division of the Office Specialty Manufacturing Company, once the largest producer of wood and steel office furniture. - Individual façade style unique. - 3 storey factory has a concrete base, solid red brick exterior walls, and a post-and-beam interior. - Flat roof. - Principal façade is organized into 4 bays by brick piers. **Former Office Specialty ** 543 1912 Residential/Co mmercial - Constructed by once the largest producer of wood and steel office furniture and equipment in Canada. - Main entrance is offset and features a concrete door case with a classical entablature and a floating transom, topped by a sculpted nameplate. - Earliest surviving component of a factory complex with extended along the railway tracks from Water St. past St. - Designed by local architect Oliver E. Tench. - Windows have wooden mullions and lintels, and continuous stone slip sills. - Façade is extended by a parapet roof with a moulded wooden cornice. - 2 storey wood-frame dwelling with stucco exterior. - Original brick chimney remains. - Hip roof.
