Parents, Thank you for allowing your child to be a part of the Awana Ministry here at Battlefield Baptist Church. We are excited about this upcoming year. We cannot wait to see what God is going to do in the lives of our children! Allow me to share with you some things we need from you, the parent, and things your child will need with them each night of Awana: THINGS FROM THE PARENT Your Permission On your child s registration form, there is a section devoted to medical information and permission to participate. This will help us update our records {each year} and be sure we have the necessary information just in case of an emergency. Your Presence Because we are a bit larger than some Awana ministries, we must be able to get to you quickly in case of an emergency. Obviously, we encourage you to take advantage of and attend our Adult Bible Study in the Fellowship Hall which begins at 7 pm. Throughout the year, we will also offer various Bible studies on numerous Biblical topics. Your Participation Your child will be bringing home a book with sections to complete and verses to memorize at home. Parents are key to the child s spiritual growth, and we hope you will work through these books with your child as they grow. Also, we invite you to participate with your feedback If we do something well, let us know it really encourages our volunteers! On the other hand, if an issue arises with your child, a teacher, or anything else, please let our Awana Commander (myself) or Awana Secretaries know about it as soon as possible.
THINGS YOUR CHILD WILL NEED EACH WEEK: Gym Shoes: Pants/shorts: Bible: Uniform: Handbook: We play lots of exciting games during Awana, and gym shoes are required. PLEASE: NO FLIP-FLOPS OR BOOTS. Please no skirts. Again, because Game Time is so involved, please make sure your child is dressed appropriately to participate. Please ensure your child brings their Bible always! If your child needs a Bible, let us know and we ll make sure they get one. If you did not order a shirt or vest for your child at registration and need to, please speak with our Awana Secretaries. Shirts and vests typically arrive 1-2 weeks after being ordered. If your child misplaces their handbook, another one can be purchased at the Awana Registration Desk, located on the second floor. THINGS YOUR CHILD WILL NOT NEED EACH WEEK: Electronic Devices: Phones, ipods, and other similar items need to be left at home or in the car. The classrooms are not secured or monitored at all times, and Battlefield Baptist Church is not responsible for replacing lost items. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO BRING THEM. I m sure this is going to be a great year, and your child is going to learn much about God s Word! If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me. Thanks so much and God Bless!
