PART I. WATER SUBSECTOR 1. Water Subscribers As of March of the year 2016, the total number of water subscribers is 171,363. These subscribers are distributed along different WASAC stations. 53% of the total customers are in the City of Kigali and 47% are distributed in the provinces. This difference is mainly attributed to the fact that, people in the provinces consume water supplied by Private Water Service Providers. PART II. SANITATION SUBSECTOR There is a need of proper hygiene in the City of Kigali and other parts of the country. To achieve this, RURA continues to license cleaning operators. It is in this regard, during the first quarter of the year 2016, 12 cleaning operators and 1 Solid waste and Transportation were licensed. II.1.
