PROJECT NEWS 项目消息 PAGE 3 RLB Contributes to Buddhist Heritage in Beijing 利比北京协助复修故宫中正殿 The Project Team: Associate Director Eric Lau (1 st from the left), Director Lo See Wing ( 2 nd from the left) and Gao Peng Fei (right) and the client 项目团队 : 助理董事刘传耀 ( 左一 ) 董事卢思颖 ( 左二 ) 及高鹏飞 ( 右 ) 与业主 The opening ceremony of the Research Centre for Tibetan Buddhist Heritage, the Palace Museum, Beijing 北京故宫博物院藏传佛教文物研究中心成立仪式 The Research Centre for Tibetan Buddhist Heritage, the Palace Museum, Beijing was set up in The Hall of Rectitude on 16 October 2009. The Hall of Rectitude is one of the most representative heritage buildings in the Palace Museum (Forbidden City), and is the only building cluster in the Forbidden City which composed of different Buddhist halls. During the night of 26 June 1923, the Garden of the Palace of Established Happiness was in fire. Most of the buildings including the Hall of Rectitude were seriously damaged. After the completion of the renovation of the Garden of the Palace of Established Happiness, the Hong Kong China Heritage Fund had signed another agreement of sponsorship on the renovation of the Hall of Rectitude. Like the Palace of Established Happiness, RLB Beijing was appointed to provide quantity surveying services for the project. 北京故宫博物院藏传佛教文物研究中心设于中正殿, 并在 2009 年 10 月 16 日正式成立 故宫中正殿是故宫众多建筑中极富代表性的建筑之一, 也是故宫内唯一一处由佛堂组成的建筑群 1923 年 6 月 26 日夜, 受建福宫花园大火波及, 中正殿建筑群大部分化为灰烬 香港中国文物保护基金会继之前独资捐助建福宫花园的复建后, 再与故宫签署了 修复北京故宫中正殿院的捐赠协议书, 利比北京亦继之前为建福宫提供工料测量服务后, 又有幸再次为中正殿的修缮和恢复尽一点绵薄之力 2010 年待全部工程竣工后, 中正殿院将以崭新的面貌留存于世 那时当我们以旅游者的身份再次踏入中正殿, 必会感到自豪! The project will be fully completed in 2010 and the Hall of Rectitude will be in a new look. We will be proud of ourselves when visiting the renovated heritage in the future.
PAGE 4 RLB Hong Kong Works on The Masterpiece PROJECT NEWS 项目消息 利比香港参与兴建 名铸名铸 Rider Levett Bucknall Hong Kong was involved in The Masterpiece, a recently completed building in Tsimshatsui. Developed by New World Development and Urban Renewal Authority, The Masterpiece is a 64-storey project with a total area of approximately 1,200,000 sq ft including a shopping mall, a five-star hotel and luxury residential condominiums. K11, the first shopping mall with an art gallery theme in Hong Kong comprises six storeys with 340,000 sq ft of modern-day shopping and dining facilities. As a part of the complex, Hyatt Regency Hotel Hong Kong also reopened in 2009. Rider Levett Bucknall provided the full quantity surveying services for the complex. The Client appointed Rider Levett Bucknall Korea to provide Tender Evaluation services for the selection of contractor in maintaining for the fairness of Tender in accordance with internationally acceptable standards in order to maximize the Client s interests. RLB Korea is expecting to continuously deliver the comprehensive professional services in the post-contract stage until the completion of the project.

They are YY, Nigel, Henry, KM and Frank with his wife. The Hong Kong practice was founded in 1962. Frank joined in 1962 when the company was called P.C. Russell and Associates. There were 4 staff including P. C. Russell, David Bailey, Joan Parr and Frank Cheuk. Frank was the first local Chinese technical staff in the firm. His position was Quantity Surveyor Assistant. Initially, P.C. Russell and Associates shared an office with an architect firm in Central. Later, it moved to Caroline Centre in Causeway Bay. In 1963, the company name was changed to P.C. Russell and Partners. David Bailey became the partner of the firm. At the end of 1963, Denis Levett came to Hong Kong from Australia to join the company. In 1964, David left P.C. Russell and Partners and set up a new firm. Denis became the partner. In 1966, David rejoined the company which was named P.C. Russell Bailey Levett and Partners. In 1968, P.C. Russell stepped down and the firm was called Levett and Bailey. PAGE 6 利比赞助马拉松为苗圃行动筹款 COMPANY NEWS 公司消息 RLB Joins Marathon to Raise Fund for Sowers Action 利比为回馈社会和承担社会责任, 特别赞助黄家明, 钟志杰, 黄志豪和邓颖雯一行四人在 11 月 1 日参加 苗圃行动 慈善越野马拉松 目的是帮助祖国贫穷山区的学童筹募助学经费, 真是一个很有意义的活动 比赛当日, 由油塘起步到终点大埔, 全程为 42 公里 四名队友都发挥守望相助和团队精神 纵使在闷热的天气和体力不支的情况下, 但大家都互相鼓励, 坚持到最后 而且在比赛当中, 史有理, 陈新毅和梁静娴中途到场为我们加油打气 最终我们在 10 小时 47 分钟顺利完成比赛 为了延续公司对社会责任的使命感, 我们再次代表公司参与来年二月 50 公里 环岛行比赛, 希望大家多多支持 As a good corporate citizen, RLB Hong Kong sponsored David Wong, Chung Chi Kit, Colin Wong and Veronica Tang to join Sower Action Challenging 12 Hours Charity Marathon on 1 November 2009. It aims to raise fund for the students in the remote area of China to continue their studies. The activity was really meaningful. On that day, the 4-people team started in Yau Tong and ended in Tai Po. The journey was 42 km. We had strong team spirit and helped each other during the marathon. Although the weather was hot and we were exhausted, we still tried our best to finish the whole journey. Y L Si, Chris Chan and Elaine Leung came to cheer up in the mid of the marathon. Eventually, we were able to finish in 10 hours and 47 minutes. Again, we shall join the Green Power Hike for a Green Future of 50 km in February 2010. Hope you will support us. COMPANY ACTIVITIES 公司活动 PAGE 7 RLB Korea Builds Team Spirit 利比韩国办建立团队精神 RLB Korea organized a team building workshop in Jeju Island. Located in the southwest of the Korean peninsula, Jeju is the largest island in Korea. The island is characterized by its natural beauty and the well-preserved cultural traditions. It is full of volcanic rock originated from the crest of Mount. Halla. Adventurous activities were all over the place such as horsing riding, jet boating and minispeedway racing. We learnt horse riding and quickly picked up the jumping and running. We took the rubber boat along the coastline to see the natural landscape and the irregularly shaped rock. The rubber boat was so bumpy in the rough sea. We caught sunrises and sunsets over the ocean. We talked to each other in the beach. We were stunned by the superb spectacular view in front of us. All the staff became more intimate with the legacy of the cherished memory. The team spirit is strengthened through the workshop 通过工作坊, 加强了团队精神 韩国办于九月中在济州岛举办了提升团队精神的工作坊 济州岛是韩国最大的岛屿, 是由名山汉拿山喷发的火山岩形成的, 岛内风景优美, 保留了不少文化古迹 新奇冒险的活动布满整个岛上, 如骑马 坐喷射飞艇及小型汽车竞赛等 我们学习骑马, 很快地熟习了骑马的技术并可作出跳跃及奔跑的动作 之后, 我们坐着橡皮艇出海欣赏美丽的海岸线, 在波涛汹涌下颠簸而行 我们在海滩上一边畅谈一边被迷人的景色醉倒, 大家都非常珍惜相处的时间 那难忘的回忆, 促使我们关系更进一步 Group Photo taken in Jeju Island 团体照摄于济州岛
PAGE 8 利比保龄球大赛 STAFF CLUB 员工福利会 RLB Bowling Competition 在 2009 年 10 月 30 日, 多达 90 位以上的利比健儿参加了利比保龄球大赛, 是次活动于奥海城保龄球场举行, 大家踊跃参与使活动举办成功 当晚, 同事乘坐专车前往场地, 大家先享用自助晚餐及赛前热身 现场合共有 22 条保龄球赛道, 包括其中一条董事专用赛道 大概 8 时 30 分, 比赛正式开始, 先由董事作开球礼, 每位健儿都尽力比赛, 以赢取大奖及火鸡赏 最后董事杯由罗启华先生胜出, 而他的团队亦获得保龄球队制赛冠军 男女子全场总冠军公别由 Anthony Tam 和 Michelle Dai 获得 比赛完结后, 公司安排了 夜光保龄 作为特别节目, 球道里全是夜光, 色彩鲜艳夺目, 还配合热烈的音乐, 使大家情绪高涨, 将气氛推上高峰 大家均对此活动留下难忘的回忆 Philip Lo s team wins the Team Champion 罗启华团队取得队制赛冠军 More than 90 Rlbers joined the first RLB Bowling Competition at Olympian City on 30 October 2009. The event was held successfully. We took the coach to the venue and enjoyed the buffet dinner before the competition. The venue contained 22 lanes including one for Directors Cup. The Directors kicked off the competition at around half past eight. Then all the players played hard to fight for the awards. The results came out with Anthony Tam winning the Men s Champion and Michelle Dai getting the Women s Champion. Philip Lo was awarded the Directors Cup and his team won the Team Champion. After the keen competition, a special show Glowing Bowling was on. All the lanes were sparkling and going with hot music. Everyone had great fun throughout the night. STAFF CLUB 员工福利会 PAGE 9 War Game! Great Fun! 利比野战游乐日 RLB @ War Game was held on 6 December 2009 in W28 Centre at Tin Shui Wai. Total 47 colleagues participated in this activity. All comers experienced the excitement and were having an enjoyable Sunday with a taste of Bullets. After the safety training and equipment usage instruction offered by the game centre, the war game started. Our group had been divided into two teams to carry out different military missions, such as encirclement of terrorists, base capture, etc. Every member in the winning team was awarded a medal and cash coupon. War game emphasized on co-operation and teamwork, and we all perceived the importance of them in accomplishing every mission. We not only had fun and exciting moment on that day, but also got a mutual understanding of all team members. 利比野战游乐日于 2009 年 12 月 6 日顺利举行, 当天利比香港办事处有四十多位同事出席, 并在天水围 W28 活动中心过了一个硝烟四起, 枪林弹雨的星期天 同事们到达场地后, 便领取所需要的军用装备 聆听场地工作人员为各人安排的安全及装备使用指引后, 同事们便分成两组进行一连串精彩而紧张刺激的军事对垒游戏和任务, 如围剿悍贼, 攻防战, 抢垒等 最后胜出的队伍更获得奖章及现金券作为奖励 各同事于游戏中都全程投入, 更淋漓尽致地发挥利比专注认真的团队合作精神来完成任务, 这不但加深了解团队合作的重要性, 更令各人进一步互相了解及认识
PAGE 10 余汉江团队 - 行山活动 今年, 余汉江团队除了举办生日派对及午餐外, 还举办了行山活动 是次活动由团队内的行山老手 David Wong 负责统筹 于 11 月 21 日, 团队在西贡集合并先买下干粮 我们影大合照后, 于大滩路出发 当日天气不错, 加上行山径周围绿草如茵, 呼吸着大自然气息, 令我们倍加精神 正午, 我们到达了第一站 - 大滩, 这里是个风景怡人的小沙滩, 我们先在这里小休及把握时间拍摄四周风景 余下第二段的旅程较艰辛, 但全靠队长的指示及大家的合作性, 最终到达了终点海下 TEAM NEWS / EMPLOYEE NEWS 团队活动 / 员工消息 HKY Team - Hiking Apart from the birthday party and lunch, our team organised a hiking this year. The activity was leaded by our experienced hiker, David Wong. On 21 November, the team members gathered at Sai Kung and bought some food for lunch. After taking the group photo, we started the hiking at Tai Tan Road. The weather was good and the hiking path was nice. Surrounding by the greenery, we could smell the taste of trees and flowers. At noon, we reached our first checkpoint called Tai Tan where was a marvelous little beach. All of us took some rest there and had this precious moment with their cameras. It became a little bit challenging at the second half of the journey. With our team spirit and the guidance from our leader, we eventually reached our destination at Hoi Ha. They were Emily (Simon Tuen s Team) and her husband Tom as well as Felix ( Simon Tuen s Team) and his wife Landy. It was good to see that Emily and Felix were able to find their own true love and embarked on a new stage of life. EMPLOYEE NEWS 员工消息 PAGE 11 利比同僚相聚贺新年 Get Together For New Year A group of 35 current RLBers and ex-rlbers with their friends and families gathered to celebrate the New Year from 31 December 2009 to 2 Jan 2010 at Wanlong Ski Resort, Hebei. Apart from catching up with our RLB colleagues and excolleagues the group landed the snow slopes of Wanlong to enjoy the skiing and snowboarding. Other activities also included endless amounts of food, drinks, DVD s, fireworks, firecrackers and sparklers.
