Nuneaton 21 st February 1981: 4 87101 tears through northwards. Grantham: 5* a) 55009 departs on the 0940 Kings Cross-Edinburgh. b) A short while later, 55009 enters Peascliffe Tunnel and passes 55018 on a service from Hull (24 th July 1981).

Leicester - June 1983: 25 Having brought in the ECS for a Leeds service (platform 4), 45051 is uncoupled and runs off light engine at 0755. 2 nd June. 26 20075/072 arrive on ECS for the Skegness service. 45051 sets off for Leeds at 0801 (behind the mic) as 47239 stands at the head of an excursion to York and Scarborough. 2 nd June. 27 25095 passes on the goods line, northwards, hauling a mixture of Grainflow and tankers, at 2010hrs. 08692 runs passed light. 9 th June. Midland Railway Centre: 28* (1) 55015 departs Swanwick Junction for Butterley. 28 th October 1987. 29 (1) 55015 departs Butterley for Swanwick Junction. 28 th October 1987. 30 (1) 9019 departs Ironville. 26 th June 1988.

June 1983: 34 37057 passes Grantham (on Grainflow) at 0045. 21 st June 1983. 35 45041 on ECS in the early evening, at Sheffield. 21 st June 1983. 36 At Huddersfield, 47420 departs at l256 for Manchester, 23 rd June 1983. 37 At Leeds, 45029 departs platform 9 at 1400hrs. 23 rd June 1983. North Yorkshire Moors Railway: 38* (1) The handbrake is released in the brake coach, then 55019 departs Grosmont and tackles the 1 in 49. 20 th October 1984. 39 (1) At Grosmont 55009 draws empty stock forward. 23 rd April 1988. 40* 55009 and 31428 top and tail a service departing Grosmont at 1509. 23 rd April 1988.

Severn Valley Railway 16 th October 1988: 41* 55016 departs Highley northbound at 1345. 9 th March 1985: 42* 25309 departs Leicester at 1500hrs on a Birmingham-Norwich service (after replacing a failed class 31). 43 31463 pulls away from platform 4, Peterborough, but then does an emergency stop. It gets on its way again towards Leicester, at 1721. 44 37118 passes Peterborough (southwards), platform 4, on tankers. Peterborough - The night of 22 nd /23 rd February 1984: 45 At the south end of Peterborough, platforms 4/5, at 2102hrs. 31414 propels empty coaching stock back a few yards along platform 5, as 45130 passes in the background on a northbound freight. 31412 sets off for Norwich from platform 4. 08324 follows up along platform 4 with some parcels vans. Another 31 departs platform 2 southbound on ECS in the background. Then a rough sounding 31414 sets off (behind the mic) taking the Norwich line. 46 40155 passes southwards along platform 4 at 0012hrs, on a motorail. Note the wheel rhythm of the articulated vehicles. 47 Earlier that night, 47602 departs platform 4 at 2341 (parcels) heading north. Nene Valley Railway - 20 th August 1988: 48* On the final service of the day, 55016 has some lost time to catch up.
