Egypt Egypt is one of the oldest tourist destinations situated in the north-east of Africa with its capital located in its largest city, Cairo. Egypt is perhaps famous for the ancient Egyptian civilization, mummies, hieroglyphs, temples of Luxor, and some of the world s famous monuments such as Giza pyramids and the Great Sphinx. There are many things to do in Egypt for visitors such as diving along the Red Sea coast, going to hot night spots, and enjoying the fabulous dining experience, apart from visiting Pyramids and monuments. There are other tourist attractions in Egypt, including camel trips in the Sinai Peninsula and visits to the Coptic monasteries. Each city has its own unique and fascinating things to experience with its own people, customs, and past. Bartering for a bargain in Khan al-khalili bazaar and drinking tea while having a long chat with a local will give a brief description of Egypt. Hope you will enjoy your stay in Egypt!

Caıro The capital of Egypt and the largest city in Africa, the name means "the victorious city". It is located on both banks of the River Nile near the head of the river's delta in northern Egypt and has been settled for more than 6000 years, serving as the capital of numerous Egyptian civilizations. Cairo is known locally as "Misr", the Arabic name for Egypt, because of its centrality in Egyptian life.

Khan al-khalılı Bazaar The capital of Egypt and the largest city in Africa, the name means "the victorious city".

Gıza pyramıds The centerpiece of Egyptian culture, the Pyramids of Giza are usually the first stop on any travel plan. Famous the world over, and the last remaining landmark of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the pyramids are the country s crowning achievement. There are a host of structures to explore, from the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the oldest, to the Sphinx, which stands guard. The area is particularly enchanting after dark when it s illuminated by a light and sound show.

Egyptıan Museum of Antıquıtıes A great place for anyone even remotely interested in the fascinating history of ancient Egypt, the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities is home to over 120,000 artifacts, the largest collection in the world. It provides a comprehensive guide from the early kingdoms to the Roman Empire.

Valley of the Kıngs Located on the West Bank just west of the Nile River, the Valley of the Kings houses the ornately decorated tombs of ancient Egyptian pharaohs. The inspiration for so many elaborate stories and Hollywood blockbusters, the tombs marked an important shift in Egyptian history when pharaohs chose to be buried in the hillside instead of in the pyramids. This, no doubt, was to ensure their eternal existence and avoid the popular sport of grave robbing. Most visitors go to see the remains of King Tutankhamen and Queen Nefertiti, but there are many other beautiful resting places, as well.

Major Attractıons ın EGYPT Abu Sımbel temples Along with the pyramids, the Abu Simbel temple is one of the most recognized attractions in Egypt. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the colossal rock temples in Nubia were carved from large sandstone cliffs as part of an order from Pharaoh Ramses II. Standing 65 feet high, they were built as a tribute to Re-Herakhte, the ancient Egyptian sun god and literally cannot be missed.

Luxor temples Straddling the Eastern Bank of the River Nile, the Luxor temples are yet another amazing ancient Egyptian site. Resting on what was once the ancient city of Thebes, the temples are some of the last remaining traces of the capital of the known world. There are six temples total, including the Temple of Karnak which is home to spectacular statues, breathtaking columns and ornate wall engravings.

Suez Canal This artificial waterway which connects the Red Sea and the Mediterranean is one of the most famous and most contested stretches of water in the world. Steeped in history and politics, the Suez Canal is a world landmark. You can reach the canal by either taking a boat down the waterway or walking on the Peace Bridge, which crosses over at Isma iliya. Take in the views and the legacy, and witness large tankers trying to navigate their way through the narrow straits.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina ocated on the historic site of the Library of Alexandria, which was once the single most important library in the entire world, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina aims to commemorate its predecessor while still providing world-class service. This huge structure not only serves as an important research center, but also has a planetarium and conference facilities. With a modern design and an extensive collection of contemporary and ancient texts, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina rekindles Egypt s literary spirit.

Medinat Habu Ramses III s magnificent memorial temple of Medinat Habu, fronted by sleepy Kom Lolah village and backed by the Theban mountains, is perhaps one of the west bank's most underrated sites. This was one of the first places in Thebes closely associated with the local god Amun. At its height, Medinat Habu contained temples, storage rooms, workshops, administrative buildings, a royal palace and accommodation for priests and officials. It was the centre of the economic life of Thebes for centuries.

Karnak Karnak is an extraordinary complex of sanctuaries, kiosks, pylons and obelisks dedicated to the Theban triad but also to the greater glory of pharaohs. The site covers over 2 sq km; it's large enough to contain about 10 cathedrals. At its heart is the Temple of Amun, the earthly 'home' of the local god. Built, added to, dismantled, restored, enlarged and decorated over nearly 1500 years, Karnak was the most important place of worship in Egypt during the New Kingdom. Beyond your journey

Cruısıng Down the Nıle Rıver At some point most travelers to Egypt will take in some sort of boat trip down the Nile River. What makes a journey along the Nile so interesting is that it effectively is a journey through 5000 years of ancient history. Temples, monuments and historical sights line the shores along with many of its bustling, modern centers like Cairo, Luxor and Aswan.

Red Sea Egypt's Red Sea coast runs from the Gulf of Suez to the Sudanese border. Its mineral-rich red mountain ranges inspired the mariners of antiquity to name the sea Mare Rostrum, or the Red Sea.

Egyptıan Cuısıne Not a lot of people know that Egypt is not only famous for its ancient monuments, culture and revolution, but it is also famous for its great food. Egyptian food is a mixture of all the different civilizations that came to Egypt in the history of its existence. Nowhere in the world will you be able to taste so many cultures in one plate. Below is a list of the most delicious and popular dishes served up in Egypt today. Ful Medames, Fatta, Halawa, Dukkah,Kushari,Konafah
