LAL ADVANTAGE LAL Advantage is our student portal helping you with all aspects of your stay with us, including lessons, placement test, useful information and our feedback forms. You should have received a log in. If not, your booking confirmation will have an LAL student ID number (6 digits). Go to /advantage enter lal then your ID number in both fields. For example lal123456 Please fill in your registration form and placement test online before arrival as this will save time on your first day. Please let us know your first impressions by completing our First Week Feedback Form in LAL Advantage.
ACCOMMODATION Residences (Sunday only) Let us know at least one week in advance by email what time you intend to arrive at the residence Make sure you have the full address with you Make sure you know which residence you are staying in Check in and out times Arrival 14.00 21.00 Departure 10.00 If you arrive between 21.00 and 23.00, there will be a supplement of 45 to pay on arrival. If you arrive later, you will need to book into a hotel for the night at your own expense. Homestay (Saturday or Sunday) Let your homestay know, at least one week in advance, when you will arrive You should have all information in your accommodation confirmation, including the address If you do not, please email the school Remember, you are staying in someone s home so please treat them and their family with respect. Late arrival at a homestay without letting us know may lead to non-admittance to the homestay. The school reserves the right to make changes at its discretion.

INSURANCE AND WELL-BEING It is highly recommended that you take out travel and health insurance. You can book this with LAL. Please e-mail reservations@ or go to our website for more information. National Health Service (NHS) UK has nationalised health, free for UK citizens or residents Non-UK citizens may have to pay for health care UK has a reciprocal agreement with a number of non EU/EEA countries, so no charge for care will be made EU/EEA citizens will receive the same level of care as a UK citizen Prescription medicine has to be paid for EU/EEA/Swiss Citizen? Bring your EHIC card Only covers you for treatment in the UK Does not cover repatriation or private health costs Planned treatment is not covered by the EHIC Forgot your EHIC card? UNDER 18s Accreditation compliance and safeguarding for under 18s means that we need to treat our under 18s a little differently: You need to be back with your homestay host by 22.00 You will need to sign in and sign out of the school The minimum age for drinking and smoking in the UK is 18 You will need to provide proof of health and travel insurance on arrival. If you cannot do this, you will have to take LAL s insurance for the duration of your stay or until you can provide LAL with proof of alternative cover There is no included leisure programme Parents or legal guardians of students under 18 must complete our welfare and consent form BEFORE arrival: forms./welfare-form
