YOUR ACTIVITIES Optional Early Morning Walks with Karen A leisurely stroll to get the body moving or a power paced session to get the heart rate going. It's a beautiful time of the day to be out and about taking in the morning peace and light. Sessions Our yoga teacher will be guiding you through 90 minute yoga sessions, working on traditional Asanas and Pranayama breathing techniques. Don t worry if you are a beginner, all levels of experience are catered for. Jungle Trek & Canyon Tubing Adventure On our four hour trek adventure we cross ravines, walk through rice paddies, traverse local farms and have some fun canyon tubing down a section of river. We refuel with some lunch before heading home on the uphill trek out to our village. It s a great way to see local life whilst also challenging your fitness and enjoying spectacular scenery. Be prepared to get muddy and wet at times! Bike Trip Explore the back roads of Bali on a guided bike tour stopping at villages and places of cultural interest. It s mainly downhill and there is a support vehicle if you need a break. Suitable for all riders. A delicious breakfast and lunch is included. Beyond Bali Volcano Caldera Trek (our latest and most fabulous trek) This is an exciting and challenging day. After a short trek by torchlight we reach our destination to watch the sun rise over the east coast of Bali. There s time for breakfast snack before commencing our trek across the crater rim, enjoying 360-degree views over the mountains. It is a very outdoors experience, walking on steep local tracks with our guides. You need a good level of fitness and awareness. After the final descent into the village we board our boat for the trip across the lake. Take home a great sense of achievement and some amazing photos. Once you are relaxing in the hot springs, the 3am wake-up call will be a distant memory. Kitchen Spa Class Our kitchen is not only the source of wonderful food, it provides us with delicious body scrubs throughout the retreat. Wayan, our extraordinary body therapist will share her secrets. Learn how to whip up a body scrub, hair treatment or face mask using ingredients such as turmeric, wild honey, ginger, avocado, papaya & coconut. Getting your glow on just get easier. Cooking Sessions We share the secrets of our kitchen with you over some informal cooking sessions pre dinner. Every dish starts in the mortar and pestle, grinding fresh spice ingredients to create the famous Balinese sambals. You may join in the preparation or just sit back and relax enjoying watching someone else at work in the kitchen. Massages and Body Treatments Your program includes a 45min Balinese Massage. Recommended fro those who prefer a firm massage. RELAXING MASSAGE 1 hour rp250,000 Relaxing massage techniques work to soothe damaged tissue, and relieve strained muscle and joint pain. The boost to your circulation will help reduce stress and rebalance your body, and the aromatic oils can also boost your mood, as this massage targets deeper layers of muscle and boost circulation. ENERGI MASSAGE 1 hour rp250,000 This firm and deeps stroke massage treatment is performed using elbow pressure to restore depleted energy levels and release emotional tension, relive stress as well as muscular aches and pains. The treatment ends by applying warm palms in positive energy to your head and back. FOOT REFLEXOLOGI 1 hour rp200,000 The ancient art of healing, using thumb and finger pressure on parts of the feet which corresponds to various parts of your body. Reflexologi relieves tension, stress and stimulates the nervous system. FACIAL DELUXE 1 hour 15 mins rp200,000 This treatment focuses on the use of pure and natural ingredients known for their nourishing properties such as candlenut, lemon, honey, avocado and cucumber. Ear candling and a revitalising neck and shoulder massage is included. FACIAL 1 hour rp140,000 A rejuvenating facial using natural ingredients as used in the deluxe treatment. WHAT TO PACK Keep it simple. Travel light. Make the most of the daily laundry service. Walks Sports shoes, comfortable walking clothes or workout gear. sessions Comfortable stretch pants and t s Walks & treks Workout gear works best. Bring gear, including sport shoes that you don t mind getting wet and dirty at times Shoes We spend a lot of time outdoors, so pack suitable sandals or thongs. Preferably bring 2 pairs of sport shoes as this allows time for one pair to dry if necessary. Old shoes are best! Everyday Lightweight casual clothes for the tropics. Long sleeve sweater/t and pants for the surprisingly cool evenings/early mornings Sleep in whatever is comfortable for cool nights. Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, umbrella, insect repellent, refillable water bottle it s the tropics. Caldera Trek/Hot Springs It s very cool when you start, but you will soon be warm. Wear layers. A nylon wind jacket is a good idea. We can provide you with a walking stick (the local version a piece of sturdy rattan) Swimming gear Daypack. Small torch, preferably a headlamp. Water bottle (or a camelpak if you have one) Sport shoes are ok, but some people feel more comfortable in light hiking boots. Bits & Pieces Bring an adaptor suitable for Indonesia if you need to use your charger. Reusable shopping bag or daypack is a good idea to help avoid plastic bags if you go shopping. Pack the camera. Check the batteries before you leave. There will be some time to relax, so bring a book. We also have a library of books to share Banned Narcotics Don t even think about it packing them! You will be terminated from the property. Pack your sense of curiosity and wonder. Leave the expectations at home. You are about to have a very unique experience.
HANDY TRAVEL HINTS The Airport Ensure that your passport is valid for 6 months with 1 empty page. Allow rp200,000 departure tax (around $20) Group Transfers Your package includes group transfers to/from the retreat. We pick up/drop off at specified times from Ubud. You will be advised of group transfer arrangements once all guest details are confirmed. Private transfers to/from the airport or other hotels may be organised for you at additional cost. Money Local currency is Rupiah and the exchange rate does fluctuate. Its easy to change money, don t bother trying to get Rupiah in Australia. ATM and currency exchange is available at the airport. (no facilities at the retreat) You will only need cash for your extras whilst on retreat. Drinking Water Only drink bottled water, including cleaning your teeth. Staying In Touch We have mobile phone reception, but no landlines or WiFi. Ensure that global roaming is organised to your phone BEFORE you leave home. (Global roaming is expensive) Indonesia code is +62 To use your phone with a local sim card do the following: - your phone must be unlocked and ready to accept a new sim card BEFORE you leave home - bring the device to release the sim card on your iphone - iphone4 users have to have the sim card cut down the card sellers usually do this for you - best to buy the new sim card and phone credit BEFORE you arrive at Sharing Bali. You can buy these at the airport from a kiosk that sells drinks etc. We can buy more phone credit for you as needed. Meals Meals are a delightful time at sharing Bali. We all eat together and our style is genuine village style Balinese food. Spicy vegetable, fish or chicken dishes accompany rice. Fruit is served with every meal. No preservatives, nothing packaged. Just fresh food. For safety reasons we are unable to accept guests who have a fatal allergy to any foods. We are not equipped to serve separate meals. Alcohol The only alcohol we serve is the local beer. Bring your own wine as it is difficult and expensive to buy locally. We can provide juices, tonic, soda etc. for you to mix with your own spirits. Health & Safety Make sure you have travel insurance (compulsory for all of our guests). Please bring a photocopy of your passport photo page for local registration purposes. Be responsible about any medical conditions you may have. Pack your medications and prescriptions as necessary. Our staff and guides provide a lot of assistance when needed on our treks to keep everyone as safe as possible as our treks and outdoor activities are quite adventurous. You don t need to be the fittest or the fastest but you do need to have a general level of fitness and enough mobility to be able to undertake a minimum 1-hour hilly hike unassisted. If you have injuries that considerably reduce your mobility, especially on hills, it may be best give yourself time to recover from the injury and book your trip at a later date when you will be guaranteed to enjoy the experience.
