Please notice that we have a couple of openings on the Board of Directors. Be sure to attend our next membership meeting Saturday March 10 th at 10:00 am at DiDomenico Hotrods in Cromwell. All the details are in this Distributor. President s Message March 2018 It s unfortunate that we had to cancel our February membership meeting at Cerone Automotive but sometimes things happen that are beyond our control. We will try to reschedule this meeting later in the year. It is definitely one that our members will enjoy. Our March meeting will be at DiDomenico Hotrods, 11 Alcap Ridge, Cromwell, CT 06416 where they build customized hot rods, perform restorations, metal fabrication, custom paint and more. Our host is Jeff DiDomemico and you can find more information on his business by going to DiDomenico Hotrods on Facebook. The date is Saturday March 10 th at 10:00 AM. Our friends at VCCC are invited and other clubs are receiving a special invitation. Many thanks to CCR vice president John Bieback for setting this up. Travis Cook, President John is also setting up the Maple Sugar Breakfast tour to the Maple Corner Farm, 749 Beech Hill Rd., Granville, MA 01034 on April 7, rain date April 8 th. This is a driving event and all are invited to participate. You are encouraged to drive your old car but your modern hot rod or even your daily driver are welcome. Just come out and enjoy the day with us. And of course, bring the whole family, grandkids, friends, neighbors and anyone else that would be interested. See the flyer in this issue for all the details including the meeting places and times. And, of course, anyone living closer to Granville is welcome to meet us at Maple Corner Farm around noon if the meeting places are not convenient. The Covenant Village Car Show will be held on May 19 th in Cromwell in memory of CCR member Pete Alison. This was Pete s show for many years and his family continues it in his memory. It is a great show and more details are in the calendar. Please let me know if you have a suggestion for a meeting place. Most importantly, car show season is quickly approaching and we need someone to step up as Car Show Chairman and members to work on committees related to the car show. Bob Hand is retiring as car show chairman after 20 years but is looking forward to working with the new team to get off to a good start. There is plenty to do and the task of presenting a great show is much easier if we have more people involved. Please let me know if you are interested. We still have 2 openings on the Board of Directors. We would like to have some new members with new ideas join the board and help guide the club into the future. We also need to fill the position of club historian. Until next time safe motoring! Travis Cook, President CCR-AACA 860-462-1067 cell phone Next Meeting: DiDomenico Hotrods Saturday March 10, 2018, 10:00 AM 11 Alcap Ridge, Cromwell, CT 06416 3

Secretary s report None, no meeting last month Treasurer s report was for 2 months read and accepted Central Connecticut Region AACA Board of Directors Meeting February 5, 2018, 7:00 PM Fox Laminating, West Hartford The following members attended the February meeting: Paul Bosco, Fred Glabau, Nick Nesci, Ray Lichota, Bob Hand, John Bieback, Travis Cook, Jack Gasper, Bill Ullmar Old Business Travis brought up the idea that he would like to see the club bring back the Ad Book. This past year we dropped. Our revenues went way down. The problem is getting people to sell ads and getting paid for them in a timely manner. The members who sell ads are tired of chasing vendors to pay for the ads. They do not understand that we have a time schedule that has to be met. We have a deadline to get the ads to the printer so we may have the books for our meet. New Business Once again, let it be known that Bob Hand is retiring as Show Chairman. We need a Show Chairman. IF WE DO NOT HAVE A SHOW CHAIRMAN, WE HAVE NO SHOW That is the bottom line. Jack Gasper asked the board what direction are we going in. That s a good question. Most of the board members have served the Region in one way or another. We need new blood. We need places to visit for our monthly meeting. John Bieback will try and set up a tour with the Connecticut Valley Region our of Massachusetts. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. Paul C. Bosco, Secretary Al's Trivia March 2018 (answers on page 5) 1.
