I hope everyone took the opportunity to get their bikes out for a stunningly beautiful fall day on Sunday the 25th. Opportunities are getting slimmer this riding season. I also hope to see many of you at the upcoming events at Boardtracker! Keep smiling! Any photos that you have from chapter rides this season can be sent to my email and we'll use what we can and archive the rest for a possible HOG year book. Thank you, and ride on! Laura Laura Farnsworth Fall is a great time to ride, the leaves are in their glory, the temperatures are cooler and there is a clean feeling in the air. But it is also a time for extra caution when out on your bike. The cool temperatures are here and that means there is a chance for black ice in the cold mornings and on shady areas of our gorgeous back roads. If you are heading out for a ride make sure you check the weather conditions. Wet leaves are also a hazard in the fall. Don t forget to dress accordingly too. Cold temperatures can cause hypothermia and you lose feeling in your fingers and ability to control your bike. Dress in layers so if it warms up during your ride you can peel off a layer and still be comfortable and safe. I look forward to riding with all of you and as always stay alert and ride safe. Dave MacDonald Dave During the Christmas Open House at Boardtracker on December 5th LOH will be hosting a bake sale, craft sale and gift wrapping. All donations will be given to CAMDEN Playground. CAMDEN will also be selling tickets for their quilt raffle. I'm looking for volunteers to work the gift wrapping table from about 10-4 in two hour shifts. Also anyone that does crafts, we will be accepting donations as well. Please call or email me at 815-289-8692 or email loh.boardtrackerhog@gmail.com if you are willing to participate in any way. Mary Jackson Mary I have a few important items to share with all of you this month. Our chapter officers now have new uniform email addresses. This was done to make a more uniform way of contacting the officers and also frees up their personal emails. Our HOG officers page lists the new addresses. Please use the new addresses to contact us. My new contact email for example is: editor.boardtrackerhog@gmail.com. Don Carson Also, I would like to announce our newsletter will begin selling advertising space. We have had many requests asking to advertise in our HOG newsletter. The rates are very reasonable and this is a great way to let our membership know about a product or business. Advertising is a great way for a biker friendly business to attract new customers, and our membership can patronize the businesses that help support our HOG chapter. If you have a small business or know of a business that may be interested in advertising with us, drop me an email and we will be glad to discuss our programs. Almost any business is allowable with the exception of a business that sells items that directly competes with Harley Davidson or our sponsoring dealership. Bars, lounges, restaurants, liquor stores, bakery, convenience stores, insurance, real estate, skin care, hair salon, attorneys, travel agency, auto repair, firearms, golf courses, and the list goes on and on. Starting in our January edition of Boardtracker HOG chapter newsletter I will be announcing upcoming members birthdays for that month. No ages, just a special birthday greeting from the chapter to you. Look to see who s having a birthday on The Last Word Squeaks & Squeaks page each month. I will be editing and publishing the next several Boardtracker HOG newsletters from Florida, but I am only an email away. Please send me your announcements, news bits, or an article of a trip or bike event you attended to share with our members. See you on the road, Don Page 6

BOARDTRACKER Bulletin Board Thank you to all who came to the MVP party on October 17 th. It was kind of cold but it was fun! Loved the costumes! Duffy did a great job on the pork and we hope you all had enough to eat and drink! Our next party is over the Halloween weekend. Employee carved pumpkins will be on display Thursday 10/29. You can come judge our pumpkins on Friday, Saturday and Sunday! Come hungry on Friday 10/30 so you can taste and judge our employee chili cook off 12-7pm! We are giving 1 MVP point each for judging in Janesville and Monroe! We will also be having a kids trick or treat through the departments and costume contest judged by the employees on Friday from 12-7. Did I mention that we will be in costume as well? The trees have changed color and the weather has been beautiful for a few more rides! As it gets colder remember to stop in to Boardtracker H-D and check out the heater gear to keep you riding longer into the cooler weather. You might need the heated gear for the Never too Cold To Care ride for ALS on November 7 th. Tickets are on sale now in the parts department.
