The Thinking Behind Your Itinerary wild landscapes, incredible wildlife Zambia offers one of the most remote wilderness safari experiences in all of Africa. Our first two camps are set in different areas (the middle and southern sections) of South Luangwa, the best park in Zambia and one of the most wild in Africa. Impala, waterbuck, puku, lion and giraffe wander on the wide-open plains, leopards hunt in the dense woodlands, and herds of elephants wade through the marshes. The Luangwa River, the lifeblood of the park, flows all year, but gets shallow in the dry season (May to October) exposing sandbanks dotted with hippos and crocodiles basking in the sun. The park is also famous for its herds of buffaloes and about 400 species of birds as well as several animals endemic to this area, including Cookson's wildebeest (a light-colored subspecies) and Thornicroft's giraffe. We finish this magical journey in the Lower Zambezi Park staying on the edge of a river where we will canoe among elephants and other wildlife that frequently come to the river to drink. Whether you are a first time traveler to Africa, or a seasoned safari goer, Zambia's remote wildness, along with it's huge variety and abundance of wildlife, will leave you with a lifetime of memories. I look forward to escorting you on this wild journey. Love, Lori
