GUIDELINES Eligibility: Any person with a tour passport who can show proof of motorcycle license endorsement by sending a photocopy of their license with completed passport (passenger not required to have endorsement). Only one passport per person accepted. Couples: Couples (riding on the same motorcycle) must use separate tour passports to be eligible for prizes. Completion Date: December 31, 2019 all tour passports and/or pictures must be post-marked by January 15, 2020. Categories: There will be five categories for the tour; North, Central and South Point of Interest Tours, and the ABCs of Indiana Tour. Tour Patches: Tour patches will be awarded to first time participants and rockers for those who previously participated. AWARD PACKAGE 1 A drawing will be held no later than the ABATE Awards Banquet in February 2020. 2 A total of $1,500 cash prizes will be given away. 3 The TOTAL cash prize will be divided equally between the tours. $900 will be divided between the North, Central and South Points of Interest Tours. $600 will be awarded to the ABC s of Indiana tour. 4 There are a maximum of 120 chances per passport that can be accumulated from the Tour for the drawing of the cash prizes. Participants are eligible to win all cash prizes. 5 Anyone accumulating all 120 chances will automatically receive a one-year ABATE of Indiana membership. 6 Anyone completing one Points-of-Interest Tour and the ABCs of Indiana Tour will qualify for one chance at an all-events pass for 2020. Additional chances can be earned by adding a picture of the ABATE of Indiana state office, the Indiana State Motorcycle Safety Memorial and/or Coliseum Bingo ( Freedom Hall). A total of four chances can be earned for an all-events pass. There will be 14 passes given away. 7 If less than three participants complete either category of the tour, the money will be divided equally among those who have participated in any of the tours.

HOW THE TOUR WORKS Points of Interest: Participants may visit the points of interest listed in this passport. Participants may ride the North Tour (Regions 0, 1, 2, 3, 4), Central Tour (Regions 5, 6, 11, 12) or South Tour (Regions 7, 8, 9, 10, 13) separately, any combination of two, or all three. A Point of Interest is listed in each Region (two in Region 11). There are five points of interest in each of the North, Central and South Tours (15 total). Participants simply take a picture of their motorcycle and themselves in front of the point of interest, while displaying the cover of the tour book. Couples (riding the same motorcycle) can take a picture of each other with their motorcycle, while displaying the cover page of the tour book. Participants will qualify for 2 chances per picture to win cash prizes for each of these tours they complete. ABCs of Indiana: Participants must take a picture of their motorcycle and themselves in front of the name of a city, town or county sign using the alphabet A through Z (there is no X), while displaying the cover of the tour book. Couples (riding the same motorcycle) can take a picture of each other with their motorcycle, while displaying the cover of the tour book. You also need a picture of 5 State Parks or State/National Forests. Participants will receive 2 chances for each letter of the alphabet, State/National Park or State/National Forest. There are a total of 60 chances available for this tour. Bonus: Complete all 4 Tours (3-Points of Interest and the ABC tour) and receive an additional 15 chances!

REGION 0 Johnny Appleseed s Grave N 41 6.709 W 85 7.387 3800 Parnell Ave. Ft. Wayne The image of Johnny Appleseed is usually that of a bare-foot man with ragged pants carrying a sack of apple seeds with a pan for a hat. I guess he was truly a panhead. Located in Johnny Appleseed Park, the site is largely accepted as the burial place for Johnny Appleseed Chapman. This marker is west of the St. Joseph River but some believed his grave was actually on the east side of the river. Stop by and read up on the evidence and make your own conclusion. REGION 1 Prill School Museum N 41 4.571 W 86 6.837 7018 Ft Wayne Rd Rochester / Akron, IN 46975 The Prill School Museum, is a historic one-room school building located in Henry Township near Akron, Indiana on the corner of Cty Rd 700 E & 150 N (E. Ft Wayne Ave.). It was built in 1876, and is a one-story red brick building topped by a slate gable roof. The Prill School was in use until 1925. The school house was restored in 1971 by a group of local citizens and opened to visitors as a museum and is on the National Register of Historic Places. REGION 2 John Woods Old Mill N 41 28.585 W 87 13.313 9410 Old Lincoln Hwy Merrillville, IN Also known as Wood s Mill, it is a historic sawmill and grist mill located in Merrillville, Indiana within the Deep River County Park. The mill was originally built in 1837-1838 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 10, 1975 The 2 ½ story brick building and has a gambrel roof with overhanging eaves making it a unique structure compared to other mills previously on the POI Tour. The mill operated into the 1930s and was restored by the Lake County Parks and Recreation Department in 1976. The grounds along with the gazebo play host to weddings and other events and hours are Tuesday Saturday 10AM 5PM, Sunday 10AM 5PM. REGION 3 Diana Theater N 40 16.937 W 86 2.384 137 E. Jefferson St. Tipton, IN The Diana Theater located on the corner of Jefferson and Independence streets in Tipton, Indiana was operated as a movie house since 1926 by the same family. The theater was named for the Roman Goddess of nature. For a nostalgic evening of entertainment and very reasonable price, stop in sometime. REGION 4 Wildcat Creek Winery N 40 26.810 W 86 50.609 3233 East 200 North Lafayette, IN 765-838-3498 Wildcat Creek Winery is a small rustic winery fashioning hand-crafted fine wines from local fruit. Stop by the old farmhouse which serves as the tasting room, and enjoy the down-home Hoosier hospitality! Check out their Facebook page for the latest updates to all the goings-on. REGION 5 National Model Aviation Museum N 40 10.642 W 85 19.581 5161 East Memorial Dr. Muncie, IN The museum and library is dedicated to collecting and preserving significant pieces of aeromodeling history in order to inspire a broad and passionate understanding of the historic, scientific, technical, and artistic legacy of model aviation, creating learning opportunities that stimulate the imagination, and encourage visitors to become actively involved in the world of aeromodelling. REGION 6 Cataract Falls N 39 25.987 W 86 48.874 2605 Cataract Rd. Spencer, IN Take five and enjoy the cool waters of Mill Creek. Cataract Falls are two sets of falls on Mill Creek. The upper falls has a sheer plunge of 20 feet; the lower falls - about a half a mile downstream - has a fall of some 18 feet. There was a primitive bridge across Mill Creek between the upper and lower falls that washed out in the flood of 1875. A 140 ft. Smith Type 3 covered bridge was built at the upper falls in 1876 and was open to traffic until 1988. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources restored the Cataract Bridge in 1995. REGION 7 Fort Vallonia N 38 50.684 W 86 5.941 2505 S St. Lewis St. Vallonia, IN Vallonia was settled by the French in the late 1700 s. Around 1810, the Indians became belligerent toward the settlers and General William Henry Harrison, then Governor of Indiana, ordered a fort built to protect the 90 families in the area. REGION 8 Newburgh Museum N 37 56.721 W 87 24.311 2 W Main St Newburgh, IN The Newburg Museum is located in Preservation Hall on the northwest corner of State St and Main St. The two-story brick structure was originally the Cumberland Presbyterian Church built in 1851. During the Civil War, the church bell tower was a signal tower used to call the Home Guard when danger threatened. The original bell in the bell tower is still used to signal meetings and special events in the Town. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 23, 1978. REGION 9 John M Hay Birthplace N 38 36.301 W 86 5.894 So. College Ave just north of Poplar St, Salem, IN John Milton Hay was appointed Secretary of State in President William McKinley s Cabinet on September 30, 1898, and entered into duty the same day. He continued in office under President Theodore Roosevelt following McKinley s assassination in 1901 and served until his death in office on July 1, 1905. Hay had a significant influence on the direction of U.S. foreign policy while serving in President McKinley s Cabinet. Facing the aftermath of the Spanish-American War, the annexation of the Philippine Islands, and the rising nationalism in China of the Boxer Rebellion of 1900. Under President Theodore Roosevelt Hay helped secure the right for the United States to construct and defend the Panama Canal in 1903. REGION 10 Lincoln Ferry Park Shelter House N 37 59.967 W 86 48.867 12789 IN 66 Troy, IN Located at River mile 732, This shaded riverfront park with picnic area and shelter house is located on the historic spot where Abraham Lincoln operated his ferryboat business on the Ohio River from Kentucky to Indiana. Lincoln Ferry Park is part of the Ohio River Scenic Byway, located on the beautiful Ohio River, just west of Troy, on Highway 66 next to the Anderson River. REGION 11 Ballcamp Bone Fish Sculpture N 39 42.388 W 86 21.239 SE corner of Perry Rd and Stour Heritage Pkwy, Plainfield, IN This sculpture was originally commissioned by the owners of Dick s Sporting Goods who built the office building where the sculpture resides. Why they chose an anorexic jumping fish is anyone s guess. There is plenty of room in the parking area for your picture. Park near the pond where the sculpture is located. REGION 11 Historic Elwood Opera House N 40 16.548 W 85 50.515 202 S Anderson St Elwood, IN 46036 The Elwood Opera House was truly a magnificent building and it is still with us today. Very little remains of its original interior appearance when it opened for business in October, 1891. Located on the southwest corner of South A and Anderson Streets in Elwood. The front facade of the three-story building still displays the words OPERA HOUSE embossed in stone proudly proclaiming for all to see the home of the once-famous theater. A set of double arches appear in the brickwork on the South A Street side near the rear of the building. The builder, Gustav V. Kramer, provided these openings for the delivery of stage scenery, props, and other large equipment necessary to support the major productions that played there. REGION 12 Old Jail Inn and Drunk Tank Winery N 39 45.694 W 87 13.651 127 S Jefferson St Rockville, IN The Old Jail Inn served the county from 1879 to 1998. The Italianate building is a brick structure typical of the late 19th century. Behind the jail is the boiler house that was something of a forerunner in the technology of the times because it used hot water heat that heated not only the sheriff s office and jail but was piped underground through a tunnel to heat the courthouse as well. The jail, courthouse and boiler room were designed by architects Thomas J. Tolan and Son. The boiler house was the site of the last hanging in Parke County; Earl Stout, 1888. Just below the historic Old Jail Inn is the Drunk Tank Winery. A small eclectic place to gather with friends and family and enjoy a non traditional, unusual and entertaining wine tasting. REGION 13 Red Skelton Museum of American Comedy N 38 41.367 W 87 31.015 20 W. Red Skelton Boulevard Vincennes, IN 47591 812-888-4184 Located on the campus of Vincennes University, the Museum commemorates the life and times of one of America s finest comedians, writers, composers and TV and film stars. The museum opened on July 18th, 2013 the anniversary of Red Skelton s 100th birthday. Exhibits include interactive character exhibits, costumes, artifacts, original paintings and the Pledge of Allegiance that Red made famous in the 1960s.
