THE DUNES Located in the City of Marina on the site of historic Fort Ord and just steps from the Pacific Ocean, The Dunes on Monterey Bay is comprised of two distinct districts. 1 1 2 MARINA STATION Located two miles north of The Dunes, this 320-acre project located within the City of Marina is entitled for 1,360 residential units. CYPRESS KNOLLS The City of Marina has approved this 190-acre development for 712 residential units and 60 bed assisted living facility. 2 3 THE DUNES ON MONTEREY BAY The residential component of this 400-acre mixed use community will include 1,250 units including apartments, live/work units, townhouses and single family detached homes. 3 4 4 MARINE HEIGHTS This 248-acre project located one mile from The Dunes and is fully entitled for 1,050 single family homes and 192 affordable units. The backbone infrastructure is installed for the first 300 lots. 6 5 6 SEASIDE RESORT DEVELOPMENT The Developer has completed the $14M upgrade of the Bayonet and Black Horse golf courses at this destination resort. The next phase of development located about two miles south of The Dunes will include a four-star hotel with approximately 275 rooms, 175 condominiums and 125 custom residential lots fronting the two golf courses. EAST GARRISON VILLAGE This 244-acre community is located in unincorporated Monterey County about 4.5 miles east from the Dunes development. The County has approved this development for 1,470 homes. CSU MONTEREY BAY & FORT ORD The Fort Ord United States Army post was established in 1917. Named in honor of Major General Edward Ord, a Union Army leader during the American Civil War, the post was designated Fort Ord in 1940. During the 1950s and 1960s Fort Ord housed nearly 50,000 troops. In 1994, Fort Ord was officially closed. Most of the land was returned to the state of California and became the home of California State University Monterey Bay. The city of Marina was also given a part of the land to develop, including the land where The Dunes on Monterey Bay now sits. Cal State University, Monterey Bay is ideally situated between Monterey Bay and Salinas Valley. The 1,365-acre campus brings together students and faculty in the heart of a premiere California location. The University will offer 30 undergraduate and graduate programs including Marine Biology, Foreign Language, and Computer Sciences. Current enrollment is over 4,000 students with expected enrollment to be 10,000. CSUMB employs more than 350 faculty members and 400 support staff members. 55% of students live on campus. HISTORY
