12 MAKE YOUR OWN DUTCH CHEESE 10 Experience a real family-bonding moment while making your own Dutch cheese in the intimacy of a charming traditional farm in the Dutch countryside. The big round cheeses are an iconic and delicious part of the Dutch culture and traditions. And there is no better cheese than the one you make yourself. In the privacy of a traditional Dutch farm 30mn away from the city center, you will make your own cheese with the milk from the cows of the farm. You ll also be able to experience the life of a real Dutch farmer and, if you are lucky, feed the animals! If you have been to the Rijksmuseum, you will surely have realized that Rembrandt painted many self portraits. During this 2,5 hour hands-on workshop, you will first get dressed as the people of the 17 th century. Then, follow the instructions of your private art teacher and paint your own self portrait, just like Rembrandt would have done in his days. And your masterpieces are easy to carry back home! 14 DECORATE YOUR DUTCH CLOGS 12 Decorate your own traditional yellow wooden clogs during this fun-filled family-friendly hands-on workshop in Amsterdam. The yellow wooden shoes, also called klompen, are very Dutch. In the past, farmers would walk in these heavy shoes! Today, they are used for decoration. During this hands-on activity, you will decorate your own wooden shoes in the old traditional way, using a special technique that has made the fame of such shoes. Inspired by the many beautiful things Holland has to offer, you will follow the instructions of your private art teacher and create a wonderful, traditional souvenir.
