Discover Outdoor Adventure Ages: 10-12 * July 23-26 * 8:00 am-4:00 pm Spend your days building confidence, strength and creativity in fun, challenging adventures. Each day will provide a new, exciting challenge. All activities are suitable for campers with little or no previous outdoor experience, as well as those who have extensive outdoor experience. This camp will include activities such as fishing, geo-caching and mountain biking. Wednesday night will include an overnighter at Camp Roberts. Enrollment limited to 15 campers. Fee: $100 member / $130 non-member Off to Camp Stayover Ages 8-11 * July 2-3 Come check out the YMCA s Resident Camp. Spend two exciting full days and one night with all your friends. This is the perfect opportunity for you to see what great things happen at our resident camp. We will leave the YMCA at 8:00 am and return the following day at 5:00 pm. Join us for a great stayover adventure! Space is limited so don t wait too long to register. Fee: $90 Adventure Club Ages: 4-6 * 9:30 am-12:30 pm June 11-15 * July 9-12 * July 30-Aug. 3 * Aug. 6-10 Adventure Club is an excellent introduction to the magic of the Y s numerous camp programs. Your child is enthusiastically invited to join us for a week of friendships, laughter, and of course, ADVENTURE! We will rendezvous each morning, organize our troops and then enjoy three hours of fun and challenges. Daily activities may include arts and crafts, swimming, games and much more. Real Food Ages: 10-12 * June11-14 * 9:00 am-1:00 pm Ages: 13-16 * July 16-19 * 9:00 am-1:00 pm Campers will learn about healthful food choices, improve food preparation skills and increase healthy eating behaviors. They will prepare (and eat!) lunch as part of the program. Conversation about nutrition, food safety, food processing, nutrition labels and more will all be included. Enrollment is limited to 12 campers in each age group. Instructor is Kentz Willis. Campers will meet at the Y and be bussed to University of Wyoming Extension Office. Art Camps Youth Theater Camp I * Art Camp Ages: 7-11 * June 18-22 * 9:00 am-3:00 pm This camp is for students that are new to theater. The focus will be to learn about stage presence, vocal projection, character development, stage blocking and audition skills. Through theater games and skits, campers will gain valuable artistic experience while having a blast! This camp will end with a variety show at the Y on Friday at 2:00 pm. Enrollment limited to 25 campers. Youth Theater Camp II * Art Camp Ages: 8-14 * June 25-29 * 9:00 am-4:00 pm This camp is for students that have been to Theater Camp I or in a Tandem Production play. In five short days these campers will audition, be cast in a play, rehearse and perform. The final performance will be held at 2:00 pm on June 29 at the WYO Theater. Enrollment limited to 30 campers.
Exploring Theater * Art Camp Ages: 9-14 * Aug. 6-10 * 9:00 am-4:00 pm Have you ever wanted to be featured as a specific character or sing a Theater offers campers the opportunity to be certain solo? Exploring involved in the creative process of performing, selecting and developing their own scene-based and song-based materials. Every camper will be involved in an end of camp performance at the Mars Theater on August 10. Enrollment limited to 20 campers. Art Unlimited * Art Camp June 11-15 * Ages 6-9 /9:00am-12:00pm * Ages 10-13/1:00-4:00 pm Whether you are a painter, sculptor or just love to make art, this is the camp for you! Sheridan County Cadets * Art Camp Ages: 10-13 * July 30-Aug 3 * 1:00-4:00 pm March to the beat of your own drum with the Sheridan County Cadets, a youth percussion ensemble that emphasizes rhythmic literacy and performance skills. Campers will learn about early percussion technique, music foundations and percussion cadence structures in this HIGH ENERGY camp! We will have an end of camp performance. Fee: $50 member / $80 non-member * Limited to 20 campers Mini Drumline * Art Camp Ages: 6-9 * July 30-Aug 3 * 9:00 am-12:00 pm This camp is for younger students who want to learn about percussion and musical ensemble participation. Emulating the practices of the Sheridan County Cadets, the Mini Drumline will learn about percussion technique, rhythmic literacy and group skills. Disney Choir * Art Camp Ages: 6-9 * July 9-12 * 9:00 am-12:00 pm Do you love Disney songs and characters? Do you love to sing? This camp is a vocal-development group focusing on vocal technique and ability, exploring familiar and uptempo Disney music. Songs selected from classic and modern Disney works. Come join the joyful sound. Final camp showcase will be at 11:30 on July 12. Enrollment limited to 25 singers. Campers will have the opportunities to explore stories around the world while examining their purpose and structure of stories. We ll also create our own works of fiction. Fee: $50 member / $80 non-member Creative Writing * Art Camp Ages: 8-12 * July 16-20 * 1:00-4:00 pm This camp is for writing enthusiasts who are wanting to learn more about storytelling and literary art. We ll examine a variety of narrative techniques and genres while learning about developing our own long-form creative works. Fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, plot development and other topics will all be brought to life in this week long expedition into the world of literary creation. What does the inside of a jellyfish look like? These and more are all the exciting things you will learn about in Dissection Camp!! Experience life in your hands and fingers when we take apart different organisms and learn about why they are the way they are! Geological digs, bug hunts, ecological investigations and building machines-a taste of some of the many facets of the scientific world. Fee: $80 member / $110 non-member Sticks and Stones and Dinosaur Bones * Science Camp Ages: 9-11 * 8:00am 1:00 pm * June 11-15 Join us for adventure-filled days in this field geology class searching for petrified wood, leaf and fern impression fossils, studying stream bed geology (weathering and erosion), mapping unknown areas and creating a topo map. Let s be spies in nature and find and see things that are not obvious. Expect the unexpected! Materials will be provided. Enrollment limited to 15 campers. Instructor is Art Orr. Fee: $80 member / $110 non-members Sport Camps Y Pickleball * Sport Camp Ages: 9-13 * June 25-29 * 8:30-10:30 am Pickleball is a fun game that is played on a badminton court with a lowered net of 34 inches at center. It is played with a perforated plastic ball (whiffle ball) and wood paddles. It is a great sport that provides exercise and builds comraderies. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast paced, competitive game. Arlie Johnson will teach techniques, strategies and other methods that will keep you coming back for more pickleball. This camp will be held at the Y. Enrollment is limited to 20 campers.
Frank McCarthy Basketball Camp * Sport Camp Ages: 6-13 * July 9-12 * 8:00-11:00 am The Y has teamed with Coach McCarthy in providing parents the opportunity to have their children encouraged, engaged and taught the finer techniques of basketball. Y Track and Field Camp * Sport Camp Ages: 5-12 * June 4-8 Ages 5-7: 9:30 am-10:30 am Ages 8-9 / Ages 10-12: 8:00 am-9:30 am This camp is designed to help direct youth with a serious desire to enjoy a life-long activity. High School Coach Stacie McFadden and her staff will be leading this camp. Come learn running techniques, strategies and events that occur at track and field competitions. AND.have a great time doing it! Campers will receive a t-shirt. Camp limited to 20 participants in each age division and will be held at the SJHS track. Y Volleyball Camp * Sport Camp Ages: 9-13 * July 16-20 * 8:00 am-10:00 am Coach Jennifer Stadler, of the Sheridan College Generals Volleyball team is excited to lead our volleyball camp this summer. Her knowledge, ability to coach and fun personality is sure to be a hit for the volleyball player in you. Campers will receive a t-shirt. Camp is limited to 40 participants.
Challenger Soccer Camp Ages: 3-14 * July 23-27 We have brought in a top British team for this camp. These players are knowledgeable and will teach the children everything they need to know about soccer and assist in expanding their playing skills and abilities.
