Getting there We will depart from Henley in Arden School by coach on 15/04/2019 and will arrive at Heathrow Airport. We will then fly out at 16:25 on the 15/04/2019. Please drop your child off at the front of school at 10:30 on 15/04/2019 where we will be leaving on the Pulham & Sons Coach. Returning home We will leave Beijing Airport at 11:15am on 20/04/2019 and arrive at Heathrow for 15:30. Please collect your child from the front of school expected at 19:00. (We will update pupils and post on Twitter)
Our accommodation We will stay at 4* Wuhuan Hotel in Beijing. Rooms will be twins. Only one room will be a triple.
Meal arrangements Monday 15 th April- meal on flight. Pupils will need money for lunch at the airport. Tuesday 16 th April- Pupils will need lunch money as we arrive. PM- Evening Meal in a local restaurant. Wednesday 17 th April- Breakfast at hotel Lunch- In a local restaurant Evening Meal- In a local restaurant. Thursday 18 th April- Breakfast at hotel Lunch- In a local restaurant Evening Meal- Local restaurant Friday 19 th April- Breakfast at hotel Lunch- In a local restaurant Evening Meal- Peking Duck Banquet Saturday 20 th April- Breakfast at hotel Lunch on flight Pupils will need money for on the way home for food.
Travel tips money We recommend that students take no more than 150 with them on the visit in pounds and Chinese Yuan. The currency is the Chinese Yuan (RMB) Students can exchange money at the hotel.
Travel tips packing The weather in Beijing at this time of year is average 21C. We will be visiting temples too. As such, I recommend that students pack clothing which will cover their knees and shoulders during these excursions. Other items to consider: -Sun cream -Comfortable shoes -Items for comfort during the flight -Appropriate clothing for active excursions

Monday Travelling to Heathrow and overnight travel Tuesday Arrive in Beijing Check in to the Wuhuan Hotel for 4 nights Meet our guide who will be local and with us the entire time. Visit the Temple of Heaven followed by a Tai Chi Lesson. Evening Meal at a restaurant. What will we see & do?
Wednesday Visit Great Wall of China (Juyongguan section) Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit to Changling (Ming Tombs) Evening Meal in a local restaurant. What will we see & do? Thursday Visit to the Behai Park- largest preserved ancient imperial gardens. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Evening meal at local restaurant.
Friday Visit to Summer Palace Lunch at a local restaurant. Shopping at Silk Alley and Friendship Store Peking Duck banquet. Saturday Breakfast at hotel Flight departs Arrive home at 19:00hrs What will we see & do?

Luggage: Hand Luggage: One piece of standard baggage no bigger than 56 cm x 45 cm x 25 cm including the handle, pockets and wheels. Checked Luggage: One piece not exceeding 23 kg and no bigger than 90 cm x 75 cm x 43 cm including the handle, pockets and wheels We re on our way!
Don t forget Passports and money. Drop your child off at 15/04/19 at 10:30 am at the front of school. Collect your child at the front of school at 19:00 on the 20/04/19. Check vaccinations required with your GP. All consents are completed. We re on our way! If you have any questions or emergencies whilst your child is away, please call the emergency number on the letter. They will then contact staff.
