Join the Park Interpreter for a full moon hike and discover the reason for the name. Meet at the dirt parking lot on Alternate Road 5. Come early to get through all the ''Texas'' traffic. No pets, please. 8:3-9:3 p.m. June 4, 215 -- Bird Walks and Talks - Our spring and summer residents have arrived. Let's see which ones we can spot. Meet at the Lone Star Interpretive Theater to go on a birding adventure. Bring binoculars and a camera if desired. No pets, please. 8:3-1: a.m. June 5, 215 -- Native Plant Walk - Now that the wildflowers are blooming let's see what is along the Rojo Grande Trail. Great evening to be outdoors. No pets, please. 7:3-8:3 p.m. June 6, 215 -- Trail Clean-up Day - Palo Duro Canyonis participating in National Trails day. Help clean up your trails and get free entry from 8:3 a.m. to 1 a.m. Pick up a trash sack at the Entrance Office. A collection site for all participants will be announced the day of event. June 11, 215 -- Children's Nature Program - The Lone Star Interpretive Theater is the place to be for a children's nature program. Suitable for children grades 1-5. Come discover the neat activity the Park Interpreter has planned. No pets, please. 8-9 p.m. June 12, 215 -- Comanche Trail Hike - Hike the upper Comanche Trail with the Park Interpreter to the Rock Garden Trail. Strenuous trail in places. Not suitable for young children. Beautiful trail with terrific views of the park. Please call by Thursday so we will have a count. Meet in the Chinaberry Day Use Area. No pets, please. 9: a.m12: p.m. June 13, 215 -- Canyon Driving Tour - Ride in a new air conditioned van with the Park Interpreter as your guide. Learn about the history, geology, flora and fauna of the canyon. No children requiring car seats. No pets, please. First come, first served. Meet in the parking lot at the Entrance Office. 2-3 p.m. June 13, 215 -- Night Skies over the Canyon - View the beautiful night skies from the Lone Star Interpretive Theater. Area astronomers will have telescopes for your use. Bring your own binoculars if you wish. No pets, please. 9:-1: p.m. June 13, 215 -- Photography Workshop - Another photography workshop will be held in the Lone Star Interpretive Theater. Bring your camera and learn more about photographing the canyon. Everyone is welcome, from beginners to experienced photographers. 9-1 a.m. June 18, 215 -- Ladies Only Hike - Come to the canyon for a relaxing evening of hiking. We will hike the Juniper Riverside and Cliffside trails from the paved parking lot at the new Juniper Campground on Alternate Road 5. Adult ladies only who wish to spend time with women who enjoy the outdoors. No pets, please. 7:3-9: p.m. June 19, 215 -- Family Nature Hike - Bring the family and enjoy an evening on the Sunflower Trail. Easy walk for families. Meet at the trail head on the main road past Fortress Cliff Campground. No pets, please. 7:3-8:3 p.m. June 2, 215 -- Bird Wataching for Children - Hey kids, bring your parents to the Wildlife Viewing Blind and learn about the birds. Bring binoculars if you have them and maybe a camera. This is a come and go event. Reminder, keep voices quiet so the birds won't be frightened away. No pets, please. 8:3-1: a.m. June 2, 215 -- Canyon Driving Tour - Ride in a new air conditioned van with the Park Interpreter as your guide.
