Jason Shave Off and National Camp Dance explain please During the third week of REC Camp, staff is challenging campers to bring in canned goods to benefit the West Chester Food Cupboard. Summer months can be hard for children that benefit from the Free and Reduced Lunch Program in school. Staff s goal is to help fill this void and have some fun along the way! If the campers can collectively bring in 500 lbs. of food EGT Parks and Recreation Director Jason Lang is going to shave his head! The best part whichever camper brings in the most gets first cut!!! In 2015, EGT REC Camp staff created the Mid-Atlantic Summer Camp Dance. Campers danced throughout the summer, joining with camps in MD, VA and PA to Dance across the Mid-Atlantic! The National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) liked the idea that our dance is going to become the official National Summer Camp Dance and a part of July s national Parks and Recreation month! Our first year goal is 200 camps across the nation and 20,000 campers! And to think it all started in East Goshen Township! Welcome to East Goshen Township REC Camp! Frequently Asked Questions Camp Location Glen Acres Elementary School 1150 Delancey Place West Chester, PA 19382 What do the kids do all day? East Goshen REC Camp is a traditional day camp in that the campers rotate in age appropriate groups among sports, crafts, science, cooking and music activities. These activities are centered on a weekly theme. Camper groups are led by two staff members, a Camp Supervisor and a Camp Leader. Activities are led by Activity Coordinators, who are typically teachers in local elementary schools. We split these activities with an informal playground time, where we offer the REC Camp famous orange drink to the campers! The Camp Director is Tim Kershaw and the Parks and Recreation Director is Jason Lang. One week prior to camp, you ll receive a welcome email with unique notes for that week. On Monday morning, you ll also get a paper reminder with field trip reminders, special event reminders etc. Parks and Recreation Director Camp Director Activity Coordinators Arts & Crafts Sports Music Science/Cooking Anything Goes Camp Supervisors & Camp Leaders Counselors in Training (14/15 YO)
