Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry /Suspect Information From: 03/08/2019 1:40am To: 03/08/2019 1:43am 24000 W Nine Mile Rd. (Commercial- Supply Company) A large landscaping stone was thrown through the south rear door glass. R/P is the service manager for Supply Co. He received a call from the alarm company at 1:43am. R/P had the alarm company cancel police response because he believed it was the cleaning crew who accidently set the alarm off. R/P drove his personal vehicle to the business and discovered the rear south door s glass was broken out. R/P contacted the Southfield Police Department and waited for officer s arrival. R/P conducted a walkthrough of the business and did not discover any items missing. Security video from business shows one subject wearing a black and grey striped zip up jacket, black sweatpants with a diamond design on the calf and white gloves. The subject is seen on video picking up a landscaping rock and throwing it towards the rear south door. The video shows glass break and land onto the business floor. The subject quickly enters the business at approximately 1:40am he exits out of the same door at approx. 1:42am. After exiting the rear south door, the subject continues running south through the parking lot and climbs over a concrete wall disappearing out camera view.

03/09/2019 6:22am 16000 W Twelve Mile (Commercial- Convenience Store) Attempted to pry open the front door lock. Officer was dispatched to the 16000 Block of 12 Mile Rd. (Convenience Store) to investigate Attempt B&E that occurred overnight. Surveillance Video at 6:22am shows a newer style Red Chrysler 300 driving N/B on Sutherland St. The vehicle pulls into the parking lot and drives down the back alley. At 6:24am it shows 5 subjects walking from the back alley. One of the subjects goes near 12 Mile Rd. as a lookout while the other four subjects go towards the front door. While at the front door, two of the subjects attempt to pry and break the door lock. After several attempts to make entry, the suspects ran back in the same direction as they arrived. Suspect #1: Black top. Black bottoms. Suspect #2: Black top. Black Bottoms. Suspect #3: Black top. Black bottoms. Suspect #4: Black top. Black bottoms. Suspect #5: Green top. Green Bottoms. Entry was never gained into the business. Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry /Suspect Information 03/07/2019 2:07am 27000 Marshall St Entry was not gained. Attempt Only. Several Officers were dispatched to residence in the 27000 Block of Marshall St. on report of a possible Home Invasion in progress. As officers got into the area, dispatch informed units responding that the suspect may be getting into a Silver or Gray Sedan, and now traveling S/B on Marshall towards 11 Mile Rd. Officers located the suspect vehicle traveling S/B on Marshall Rd. toward 11 Mile Rd. several units stopped the vehicle w/o incident. The single occupant (driver) was detained while Officers completed their investigation. A check of the residence revealed that there was a good Attempt Home Invasion, screen removed and glass on door wall was smashed out. There was also a window broken out on the resident s vehicle parked in the driveway. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene and collected evidence. Shoe impressions at the scene were a match to suspects shoe s. Suspect also had a small cut on one of his wrists and there was blood recovered at the scene on the patio door. Officers completed their investigation and the suspect was taken into custody for Attempt Home Invasion and MDOP.

From: 03/09/2019 2:30pm To: 03/09/2019 6:30pm 28000 Franklin River Dr. (Residential- Apartments) Door molding near door lock was damaged. Victim states sometime between 2:30pm- 6:30pm someone attempted to force entry into his third story apartment. No entry was made and nothing was disturbed on the inside of apartment. The building is in the S/W corner of the complex backing up to the ravine and Tel Twelve Mall parking lot that is accessible through opening in the fence line. No suspect information. From: 03/09/2019 9:00pm To: 03/10/2019 3:00am 22000 Lucerne Dr. (Residential- Apartments) Screen was removed from Den Window. Victim states he left his home on 03/09/2019 at approx. 9:00pm. Victim returned home on 03/10/2019 at approx. 3:00am and went directly to sleep. When he woke up at approx. 9:45am he went to put his Rolex watch in its case. He discovered his watch collection had been stolen as well as some shoes. Further inspection of his residence he observed that the screen had been removed from his den window and entry was made into his residence. No suspect information. Several high-end watches and a pair of Jordan shoes were taken. (Residential- Apartments) Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model trail blazer Color RED - Red Vehicle Year 2006 Body Style State MI Chevy Trail Blazer Victim states he parked his 2006 Red Chevy Trail Blazer at his Apartment Complex in the 26000 Block of 12 Mile Rd. at 6:00pm. He returned to his vehicle the following morning at 10:30am and the vehicle was gone. A neighbor who walks around the complex told victim that he thought the vehicle was still there at 8:00am. It appears that the vehicle may have been taken between 8:00am- 10:30am. No suspect information. 03/06/2019 8:10am 28000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Car Dealership) Manufacturer Jeep Model Compass Color SIL - Silver or Aluminum Vehicle Year 2018 Body Style State License Year 2018 Jeep Compass / Silver Representative from Dealership advises that the vehicle was a loaner vehicle. The last time it was loaned out and returned was on 02/15/2019 at 7:30am. The vehicle hasn t been loaned out or seen since. No suspect information.

From: 03/08/2019 9:00pm To: 03/09/2019 8:00am 25000 Magic Dr. (Residential- Condo s) Manufacturer CHEVROLET Model TRAILBLAZER Color BLK - Black Vehicle Year 2004 Body Style State MI License Year 2019 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer LT R/P advises he was working on his brother s vehicle, (owner) and it was parked in his driveway in the 25000 Block of Magic Dr. Sometime between 9:00pm and the following morning at 8:00am someone stole the vehicle. No suspect information. 03/09/2019 4:41pm 22000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Leasing) I Recovered Stolen Manufacturer GMC Model 10 FT BOX TRUCK Color WHI - White Vehicle Year 2012 Body Style TK - Truck State AZ License Year 2019 10 FT RENTAL TRUCK Representative from Leasing Business stated that at approx. 4:20pm one of their trucks that was reported stolen was returned by a tow truck to their location. R/P didn t have any further information regarding who originally rented the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered and removed from LEIN.

From: 03/09/2019 7:50pm To: 03/09/2019 8:30pm 26000 American Dr. (Hotel) SR - Both Stolen and Recovered Manufacturer KIA Model FORTE Color SIL - Silver or Aluminum Vehicle Year 2017 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI License Year 2019 2017 KIA FORTE, SILVER IN COLOR Recovered Date/Time 03/09/2019 11:38pm Victim states sometime between 7:50pm and 8:30pm someone stole her 2017 Kia Forte. When victim reported the theft, it was discovered that the vehicles plate had been run recently by DPD. Contact was made with DPD and it was discovered that victim s vehicle was located abandoned and burnt in a vacant lot in the city of Detroit. Victim suspects her estranged husband is responsible. The matter has been turned over to Detroit Fire Department Arson Squad for further investigation and possible criminal charges. Tips: Never leave your vehicle running unattended Park in areas where your vehicle is viewable if possible Use commercially available security devices

After arriving on scene Officers were informed by faculty that parents of a student were upset because someone had stolen their daughters iphone. The student advised that she was at lunch and had set her cell phone down on the cafeteria table and walked away from it. When she returned to where she had left her phone it was gone. Victim suspected another student who was standing by where she had left her phone. This student was located and he denied taking the phone. His locker was searched by faculty and the phone wasn t located. 03/05/2019 4:45pm 26000 Greenfield Rd. (Commercial Business) Catalytic Converter was taken from 2011 Ford Bus. R/P advised they had parked the vehicle in the 26000 Block of Greenfield Rd. on 03/04/2019 at 4:45pm. The following day, when they started up the vehicle on 03/05/2019 at 4:45pm they discovered that the catalytic converter had been stolen from the vehicle. No suspect information.

03/05/2019 12:28pm 28000 Telegraph Rd. (Gas Station/ Convenience Store) A - Attacked Manufacturer JEEP Model GRAND CHEROKEE Color SIL - Silver or Aluminum Vehicle Year 2009 Body Style 4D - 4 Door State MI SILVER JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE Notes Damage All Over from Being Struck by Suspect s Vehicle. Officer s were dispatched to the 28000 Block of Telegraph Rd for an assault report. Victim stated that she had been with her boyfriend at a nearby Hotel. They left the hotel room at approx. 12:00pm when her boyfriend walked up and assaulted her. Her boyfriend then approached her vehicle and damaged the right passenger mirror. Victim tried to leave but her boyfriend blocked her in with her vehicle. Victim eventually got around her boyfriend s car but he followed her and struck her vehicle several times. When victim got to 12 Mile & Telegraph Rd he slammed into the back of her car forcing her vehicle into another vehicle that was stopped at intersection. Victim ended up in the Gas Station/ Market at the corner of 12 Mile & Telegraph where a witness helped her and called 911. The suspect fled the area prior to the Police arriving in a 2009 Silver Ford Fusion. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician processed the scene and took photos of damages to vehicles and victims injuries. The suspect has been identified and incident is under investigation.

Victim states sometime between 5:49pm- 6:40pm while working out at Fitness Center in the 28000 Block of Telegraph Rd. someone entered his vehicle and stole several items from the interior of the vehicle. Entry was gained through an unlocked door. From: 03/06/2019 4:00pm To: 03/06/2019 7:00pm 19000 W Thirteen Mile (Commercial- Health Center) Brown Coach Purse Notes Purse Contained Driver's License, Cash, Registration, Insurance, Credit Cards and Misc. Items. Victim reports that sometime between 4:00pm- 7:00pm someone broke out the driver side rear window on her 2016 Black Kia Soul and took several items including her purse. From: 03/07/2019 7:00am To: 03/07/2019 9:30am 16000 North Park Dr. (Residential- Apartments) Bag of Batteries, Bucket of Misc. Hardware, Safety Duffle Bag containing Respirator, Bump Cap, Steel Toe Covers, Yellow Jacket Refrigeration Gauge Manifold w/hoses, Digital Manometer, Hammer Drill & Apple I-Pad. Victim is a contractor working on site at Apartment Complex. He had his company vehicle broken into and his company IPAD stolen. R/P advised that his company vehicle was parked in the lot in the 16000 Block of North Park Dr. R/P advised that he had arrived at the jobsite at 7:00am. He gathered some tools and placed them on a cart and went inside the apartment building. R/P came out of the building at approx. 9:30am and noticed that his passenger window had been smashed out and that his company IPAD was missing. He inspected the vehicle for other items that may have been missing. The back-door lock on vehicle had been punched and he was missing multiple tools. R/P advised that the IPAD and tools were owned by the company he works for. No suspect information.

From: 03/07/2019 5:00am To: 03/07/2019 5:05pm 29000 Farmbrook Villa S Stolen License Plate Michigan License Plate Taken from 2014 Chrysler Town & Country Victim states sometime between 5:00am- 5:05pm someone stole the License Plate from his 2014 Chrysler Town & Country. Victim is not sure if the plate was taken while in Southfield or where he works in another jurisdiction. Plate was entered LEIN as stolen. 03/02/2019 3:20pm 26000 Evergreen Rd. (Commercial- Food) Manufacturer Apple Model ipad Color SIL - Silver or Victim advises he accidently left his ipad on the counter while he was in line at business (Fast Food) in the 26000 Block of Evergreen Rd. He returned to the business in about 15 minutes but it was gone. The manager checked the surveillance video. The video showed a man in his 20s with a green puffy coat at 3:34pm with victims ipad. The suspect attempted to turn it on (it is password protected) and left with it. The incident is under further investigation.

03/09/2019 3:57pm 25000 Telegraph Rd. (Commercial- Restaurant) Tip Jar- 16oz Glass Beer Mug containing assorted bills. The general manager for business (restaurant) stated someone stole the tip mug that was on the counter in the carry out section of the restaurant. Surveillance Video showed the suspect sitting in the carry out section of the restaurant on his cell phone at approx. 3:57pm. The restaurant staff asked the suspect if he needed to place an order or needed any help several times but he stated no and continued, or at least pretended to continue his conversation on the phone. A few minutes later when there were no workers present and/or had their backs turned, the suspect grabbed the tip mug and walked out of the restaurant into the parking lot. The suspect got into a White 2003 Lexus RX300 with a Michigan License Plate that was obtained from the video. The suspect drove off with the tip mug. The tip mug was a 16oz Glass Beer Mug that had a white piece of paper in it that read "TIPS" in black writing. The mug contained an undisclosed amount of assorted bills. Tips: Ensure your vehicle is locked at all times and valuables are out of sight. Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked

Be on the Look Out Highlights: Special Attention: Disorderly Person Arrest 03/06/2019 9:08pm Cambridge Ave. & Aberdeen St. The Southfield Police Tactical Crime Suppression Unit (TCSU) was conducting surveillance regarding a Peeping- Tom in the area of Cambridge & Aberdeen. Residents had previously reported seeing a subject inbetween the houses looking into windows in this area. A suspect had been developed and Officers set up surveillance at the suspects residence. The suspect was observed exiting his residence at 9:00pm. Officers followed subject on foot and observed him go inbetween several houses. The subject was observed walking from the side yard of a residence where it was later confirmed, he had set up a bucket so he could look down into a bathroom window. The subject was eventually stopped and questioned. He stated he was coming from his friend s house that lived in the area. Officers went to this friend s house and confirmed that suspect was never at this residence. Officers were on-scene at the residence where suspect had over-turned a 5-gallon bucket beneath a bathroom window and inspected the shoe prints in the snow. They were a match to the soles of the shoes that suspect was wearing. Officers also tracked suspects shoeprints in the snow where he walked between several residences and to where he was stopped by Officers. Suspect was taken into custody for Disorderly Conduct. Arrests by SPD Officers: Possession of Crack Cocaine- 1- Arrest 03/05/2019 3:52am 27000 Northwestern Hwy (Hotel) Officers responded to Hotel in the 27000 Block of Northwestern Hwy. on reports of a female threatening to shoot a male. Officers located a female on the 3 rd floor of hotel screaming at someone that she was talking to on her cell phone. Officers spoke to this female and she advised them of the following: She prostitutes out of the Hotel. Her pimp, came to her room to collect money. An argument between the two ensued and she ended up punching him. The female then grabbed her pistol, pointed it at him and began threatening to shoot him. Her pimp left the room without further incident. The female advised Officers she threw the firearm behind the dumpster because she did not want to get in trouble for it. Officers located the firearm behind the dumpster. The firearm came back no record. The firearm was confiscated for safe keeping and processed into evidence. While speaking to the female in her hotel room, Officers observed a crack pipe in plain view on the table next to the TV in her room. Further investigation by Officers they observed several small white and brown rocks of suspected crack cocaine in a container next to the crack pipe. She stated her pimp regularly brings her crack to smoke. She said he drives a 2018 Black Dodge Ram Pickup. He was not on scene. He left prior to Officers arrival. The female was taken into custody for Possession of Crack Cocaine.

(Peeping Tom) A Southfield Police Evidence Technician was called to the scene. The scene was processed and evidence was collected including suspect shoes. OWI III Offense/ Child Endangerment- 1- Arrest 03/09/2019 1:08am Northwestern Hwy. & Mount Vernon St. Officers were dispatched to location on a report of a single vehicle traffic crash. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the driver of the vehicle and suspected that he was intoxicated. An OWI investigation was conducted and the subject was arrested for OWI III (2- Priors) & Child Endangerment. A small child was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. The driver refused PBT and Breath Test. Officers secured a search warrant and a blood draw was performed at the hospital. A Southfield Police Evidence Technician Field Tested the suspected Cocaine. The result was positive for possible presence of Cocaine. DWLS/ Possession of Electronic Control Device- 1- Arrest 03/06/2019 11:25pm Telegraph Rd. & Garner St. Officer was on routine patrol and stopped vehicle for Traffic Related Offenses. After stopping the vehicle Officer questioned driver about his Expired Plate and his orange tab that was affixed to the plate that belonged on another plate and was reported stolen out of Detroit. The driver stated that he had bought the tab from a friend so the license plate would look good. He also told Officers that his Driver s License was Suspended. Officers were given verbal permission to search vehicle. During the search of vehicle Officers discovered several Vipertek Brand Electronic Control Devices. (Taser Type weapon) (No CPL) The Devices were confiscated and the driver was arrested for DWLS & Possession of Electronic Control Devices.

Felony Warrant/ Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia- 1- Arrest 03/08/2019 8:40pm Telegraph Rd. & W Nine Mile Rd. Officers were on routine patrol in the 23000 Block of Telegraph Rd. (Hotel) when they observed suspicious occupied vehicle backed into parking space. There were two male occupants one driver and one rear passenger. After observing the vehicle, it immediately left the parking lot, & pulled out onto Telegraph Rd w/o stopping. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle. As the vehicle was driving through the parking lot, Officers observed the rear passenger making furtive movements, leaning across the seat and he appeared to be reaching toward the floor board. After the vehicle was stopped Officers approached the vehicle & observed rear seat passenger sprawled out and had his legs spread across the rear passenger seat in an unusual manner, even though there was enough space to place his legs directly in front of him. Because of the furtive movements by this subject Officers had the subject exit the vehicle and he was searched for Officer safety reasons. Officers recovered a crack pipe and two thin metal rods that are typically utilized to stuff crack cocaine down into a crack pipe in one of subject s front pant pockets. A LEIN check on this subject revealed he had a Felony Warrant for Larceny in a Building. The warrant was confirmed and the subject was taken into custody for the Warrant. The subject was also issued Ordinance Violation for Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia. The driver of the vehicle was issued two citations and was released from the scene.
