Among her responsibilities was the coordination of the programming and implementation process of the EC s Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA). She was senior programming officer for Component I and IPA coordinator for Component III under the IPA, dealing with the Operational Programme for Transport and the Environment. Between 2000 and 2003 she was head of the Division for Multilateral Cooperation, and from 2003 to 2007 she was head of the ministry s Department for European Integration. She joined the REC in 2008 as regional director for South Eastern Europe (SEE). She is responsible for supervising and coaching REC country and field offices in the SEE region and, as one of REC s senior managers, for supporting the REC s strategic vision and programme planning for the region. Mrs. Nemeth is possessing experiences in undertaking legal and policy analysis and reviews, legal drafting; compliance checking, capacity building and institutional strengthening; in the field of EU environmental legislation and combating environmental crimes as well as provision of environmental trainings, organizing and conducting workshops, preparation of assessments of framework documents and writing publications. She holds a Master degree in Environmental Law and Territorial Development from Strasbourg, and has experience in international and European environmental law with a special focus on water management, waste and nature protection. She has managed or taken part as an international expert in a number of environmental related projects, among which were the conformity checking and monitoring of progress of transposition and implementation of environmental directive for candidates and potential candidates countries during 3 years, and the EC framework 5

contract on support with complaints and infringement cases in the field of environment. She also participated in the writing of several publications including the Handbook on the Implementation of EC Environmental Legislation.
