Dwntwn Revitalizatin and Ecnmic Assistance fr Missuri Building and Land Use Inventry Survey Mapping Sikestn, Missuri MAP REFERENCE HANDBOOK The series f maps cntained herein illustrates the results f the Land Use, Building and Infrastructure Survey, which were cnducted by PGAV Staff during the spring and summer f 2008. PGAV Staff cded the results f the Survey int Sikestn s Gegraphic Infrmatin System ( GIS ) t create the maps cntained herein. These maps illustrate a number f factrs within the DREAM (the Area ), including, but nt limited t, existing land use, building cnditins, infrastructure cnditins, n and ff-street parking, cmmercial vacancies, and residential units. The Area is rughly defined by Wdlawn and Hunter Streets n the nrth; Taylr, Mre, Prairie and Kingshighway Streets n the east; Trtter, Greer Malne and Tanner Streets n the suth; and Stddard, Harris and New Madrid Streets n the west. This area is cmprised f apprximately 33 city blcks, and 248 parcels cvering nearly 126 acres. Als, 215 primary buildings (nt including residential garages, sheds, etc.) are lcated within the Area bundaries. The Survey is the fundatin upn which mre in depth future analysis will be cnducted as a part f the DREAM Prgram. Strategic/Master Planning, Market Analysis, Financial Evaluatin and ther planning aspects rely n varius elements f the data and mapping cntained within this bklet. The analysis f the Survey data will be used thrughut the DREAM Prgram, ften in cmbinatin with ther initiatives. This cllectin f maps has been rganized int several categries fr ease f interpretatin: 1. Aerial (Exhibit 1) An aerial pht f the Area with Area Bundary. 2. Land Use (Exhibits 2-2c) Land Use Maps exhibit general land uses per building and per flr t prvide the reader with infrmatin regarding the distributin f uses thrughut the Area as well as mixes f uses within singular buildings. 3. Building Cnditin (Exhibit 3) Building Cnditin Map calls ut buildings which may be in need f restrative effrts. 4. Cmmercial Inventry (Exhibits 4a-4b) Cmmercial Inventry Maps illustrate cmmercial units and vacancies per building and per flr in the Area in rder t give City staff infrmatin n buildings that culd accmmdate new tenants and businesses. 5. Residential Inventry (Exhibit 5a) The Residential Inventry Map shws the numbers f residences per building and per flr in the Area. The Missuri Husing Develpment Cmmissin (MHDC) utilizes this infrmatin in their Husing Market Analysis by taking all f these maps tgether t ascertain residential units in mixed-use buildings and single-use, multi-family r singlefamily dwellings. Infrastructure Cnditins (Exhibits 7a-7c) Infrastructure Cnditins Maps illustrate the cnditins f streets and sidewalks in the Area. These maps als shw areas where verhead pwer lines predminate. Histric Buildings - (Exhibit 8) This Map shws the lcatin f the City s riginal train dept which, althugh nw used as a museum, is the nly Dwntwn building that is n the Natinal Register 9. Zning (Exhibits 9-9a) These maps prvide a cmparisn f current zning with existing land use within the Area. Included with this bklet is a disc cntaining digital cpies f all maps presented herein as well as all assciated GIS data s that staff f the City f Sikestn may recreate these maps and edit r update the infrmatin as time r future prjects may require. Other cmmunity-wide planning effrts will benefit frm the cllectin and cllatin f the data prvided herein.
